The Lodge is an older style but very well presented and the room was clean and tidy, everything in excellent condition. The owner was very friendly and relaxed, simple quick check in and out. Great value nights sleep for us before we drove to the 45 minutes to Whakapapa Ski field on Mt Ruapehu :)

Only stayed one night with wife and two kids in a family room. The man in reception was very friendly and helpful. Room was tidy with a king bed in the lounge and two singles in the room. Had a nice warm spa in one of the two spa rooms. The only issue I have is when you add in two kids to the price it was a little bit expensive, luckily this was offset by the fuel savings offered with the AA smartfuel card when we booked. Also the heater was quite loud but we didnt need it when we went to sleep. Overall a nice spot

Room Tip: IF you have a family choose a family room

A very friendly and welcoming host who had already turned our heater on before we arrived in mid-winter. No noise from other units or from nearby SH1. Recently refurbished, with double glazing. The restaurant had a lovely menu and the food was all homemade (you have to try the parfait). Two spa rooms and fishing facilities. Close to nearby Tongariro Crossing, hot pools and popular fishing spots. A pity we ran out of hot water after only 1 and a 1/2 showers - not something you expect from a recently refurbished motel.

Clean tidy rooms with sky tv. Arrived to find the heat on - very cosy. Double glazed windows made it quiet. No issues with noise for other units but then not many other quests. The motel operators clearly take pride in there motel. Would recommend.

This motel is very handy to services, very clean, quiet and comfortable.
The host and hostess made us very welcome and we would definitely stay again.
We would recommend Parklands to friends and family, happily.

Craig Morley and his lovely wife run an excellent motel. The service and the hospitality is excellent. I have travelled New Zealand and around the world and I can honestly say that I have never been treated better. From arriving on a cold winters night to the heater in the Unit turned on so that I had a warm Unit to go into, to the hospitality at the wee bar and the well cooked meals that provide excellent sustanance. Craig is a great hunting, shooting, fishing and rugby enthusiast and the chats over a few drinks in the bar which is warmed by the oven fire make for great company for the traveller. The Units are clean, tidy and comfortable. A thoroughly recommended place to stop and well placed in Turangi.

Short distance to the shops and Information Centre. Because we had a very early start the mini kitchen was great for preparing our own breakfast. The on-site restaurant was convenient and tasty. Friendly staff.
