“Don't waste your money”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

We were amazed by the truly dire awfulness of this place. Sometimes when you find a restaurant with bizarre outdated decor it just might mean that the food is great. Not in this case. I honestly can't describe the experience other than to say that if you really truly cannot cook, cannot taste food and have never eaten real Italian food why the heck would you open a restaurant? Don't waste your money. Not much choice in turangi though. We did have the local fish and chips a few years ago and that was memorable - spend your money there instead!

“Awful Place”
Reviewed 14 July 2013

This restaurant has appalling service and even worse food.

We ordered four Carbonara, two Bolognese and a Chicken Masala. The Carbonara was cold and served with minimal sauce whilst the Bolognese and Masala had ample sauce that tasted revolting. The Bolognese only tasted of sage and the Masala sauce was bland and tasteless. All of these meals were very pricey and not worth the cost.

We also ordered a few cocktails which had very little alcohol and were served in tiny glasses.

The only thing any of us enjoyed was the garlic bread which was $2.75 for a single serving.

The owner was extraordinarily rude and did not take well to our criticism of the food and instead of practicing any kind of customer service instead proceeded to inform us that we were somehow 'wrong'. Apparently this is the way the food is supposed to be served and the fact that NONE of us finished our food (Six of us) had no effect on her. She became increasingly defensive even though we did not dispute the price or payment.

The decor was depressing and created a dark and moodless atmosphere. The experience was altogether uncomfortable and unsatisfying and you would be better off going to the Burger King around the corner.

“1970s decor, service and cuisine.”
Reviewed 5 April 2013 via mobile

Very tired all round. Pasta swimming in sauce. Owner sitting at a table reading the paper. Gloomy ambience.
Well worth the extra few miles to avoid.

“The 80's Italian out of ashes to ashes”
Reviewed 18 March 2013 via mobile

If you have seen ashes to ashes on the tv as it is the Italian restaurant the cops go to at some point during each episode. It's all here the 80s decor complete with fairy lights, terrible Italian warbling on the stereo and a really dated feel.
The food is average at best, but considering there is so little else in the area you may have to bite the bullet and go there. Keep a look out for Gene coming in and shouting "fire up the Quattro".

“A real italian restaurant”
Reviewed 11 March 2013

We had two dinners in this restaurant.
The menu is so big, and you can choise from a large number of appetizers , pastas and main courses (meat).
The best were the fresh pasta , especially ( I really recommend) the ravioli… a real home made pasta, like in a Italian restaurant.
The meat dishes are very good and also the desserts.
The staff is very kind and the service very fast.
Price are ok
A nice place where I’d like to come back.
