We were recommended this restaurant from someone we met on the Tongariro crossing. We made a booking at 5pm for 6.30pm for ten people on a Saturday evening and were all looking forward to a satisfying meal after our hike. The menu and drinks list looked good but when the mains came out, they were without vegetables or salad. The menu had said they come with potatoes of your choice but we were served bowls of chips to share which was really disappointing. I ordered a steak which cost around $32.00 which was not justified as it was neither large and had I wanted chips I would have eaten at the pub across the road. No one in our party was taken with the quality or quantity of the meals. Perhaps try the Turangi pub.
