There bacon and poached set on their own toasted bread are very tasty and presented with the care of a mains. The staff remember you likes and dislikes from previous visits. Everyone is efficient and courteous

Just home from our second dinner at Cafe Everest and again not disappointed.
Great food, great service, great wine and great value for money. This cafe would DEFINATELY hold it's own amidst Wellington's finest restaurants, no doubt the Chef's previous stints at The White House and Matterhorn helps, the food is of a similar quality that's for sure.
I am also addicted to their pastries and freshly baked artisan breads available during the day, especially the almond and lemon curd croissants - Better than any I have had in France!
Love it and will be making it our new "local".

After our excellent breakfast we went back to Everest cafe for dinner on a Sunday night. It was a warm welcome on a damp and drizzling night. Wine by the glass for $6, not very expensive. A solid and short menu, that's the way we like it. We choose the crab croquettes and zucchini, lemon, ricotta bruchetta as starters. Both very tasty: 3! croquettes crunchy and oozing with a nice addition of sweet corn puree, not bad value for money either, the bruchetta big and full of flavour. For mains we had the beef fillet with glazed carrots and yorkshire pudding and the pork belly. The very attentive owner pointed out that the pork belly was cooked the chinese way: melting in the mouth and full of five spice. Well it was! I'm not a fan of bulgur, but this also was very flavoursome and the addition of the salsa to cut through the richness of the pork was great, My partner enjoyed her beef, it was cooked to perfection, but was regretting not choosen the pork. This is very nice, cosy restaurant with very attentive hosts and a great chef. When you are coming through Featherston remember to stop here!

Our first evening meal at Everest and it was lovely. Beautifully cooked calamari, pork belly and lamb - happy to substitute potato mash for the advertised polenta, and a tasty complimentary starter of Chinese dim-sum which was much appreciated. Lovely friendly prompt service.

Stopped off for breakfast on our way home to Wellington. Both the food and coffee was excellent and the service was friendly and with a smile. Was very impressed that the lovely lady who serviced us offered to add more bacon when my husband asked for no tomato with his full breakfast. I had the pancakes which were scrumptious and the addition of crumbed hokey pokey on the side is inspired. Having enjoyed our meal so much when we went to pay with our entertainment book "buy one get one free" voucher we told the young lady we had extra bacon, but the owner overhearing wouldn't hear of us paying for the extra and was very gracious at our praise of the meal. All in all they are doing a fab job and we would highly recommend this café to everyone.

oh and the pastries and bread on offer also looked delicious and there was a steady stream of patrons coming in for them even at 9am on a Sunday morning.
