“Just Lovely”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2013

We had three nights at Cas'almare. A really nice place to stay, completely away from the world. View from the house was perfect - directly across to Levanzo, Lovely to lie in bed at night and listen to the sea crashing onto the rocks just outside - sleeping with the windows open and the sea breeze blowing through was very special. The house was full when we were there, but you would never know it, there is a lot of space outside to find a quiet corner in the sun. Only disappointment was the absence of the house cook for very understandable reasons - lo light lunches or "aperitivi" were available. This meant that other than breakfast in the house, the only thing to do was go to Favignana town (if you are not used to riding a bicycle as we are, you end up a little saddle sore). Elena was so very helpful and friendly.

When we arrived at Cas'almare, the lovely hotel manager, Elena, underlined us that the spirit of the property really reflects its name which is literally "seaside home", because this is exactly the dreamed sea house I guess everybody would love to have. But with the additional comfort that there are people who are trying their best to make you experience this "house" in the best and most discrete way possible. There is nothing more peaceful, inspiring and relaxing than having a glass of wine (carefully selected among the best of the region) on Cas'almare terrace. The room we had (on the ground floor) was spacious and well maintained (only defect maybe is just the entrance door too thin that makes you hearing all the voices in the reception, even if all the guests and staff try to respect a low tone conversation). The service couldn't be more friendly but professional, the suggestions of the talented Elena more adequate, precise and with personal touch.

Having spent one week between Palermo and Trapani and having seen some breathtaking beaches and stayed at enchanting B&Bs, the highly rated island of Favignana left us somewhat under-satisfied... A nice place, but too touristic and massively overpriced compared to the rest of Sicily.

Cas'almare is a perfect representation of this... A beatiful place in a stunning location...but you pay every penny and more for what you get... Also, run by very nice people but not Sicilians, this B&B lacks the tradition and family feel we have experienced in every other B&Bs we stayed during our trip.

I stayed at cas'alamare for 2 nights in September. The island of favignana is naturally breathtaking whilst the hotel itself is trully remarkable.

The hotel is unique as it was once a traditional Italian home which has been renovated in to a boutique hotel. The feel is authentic Italian and the views from the terrace area and private beach cannot be described in words.

Maurizio, the owner, and the team who look after the hotel worked tirelessly to ensure our stay was comfortable. I comend them highly for the personal service they provided.

If hiring a car to travel around Sicily, I would recommend giving this back to the hire car company prior to travelling to the island. Parking at the port can be very difficult and cycling/moped is the best form of transport on the island due to the extremely narrow roads.

I will certainly be visiting this hotel again in the near future. I would highly recommend any person visiting the island to stay at this hotel - you shall not be disappointed!

We stayed at Cas'almare for a week and were enchanted by the location, the house, its delightful, hospitable owner and the other couples we met there. We didn't feel like clients of a hotel, but rather like guests in a private house party. We loved cycling between the house and the port where there were several simple places to lunch or dine on pizza or pasta or to refresh oneself with a granità and we loved the boat excursions to swim in perfect turquoise waters. As for the renovation and decoration of the property itself, it was beyond exquisite, hitting just the right note between Milanese sophistication and island holiday simplicity. It was a privilege to enjoy the company of Maurizio, the owner, of unparalleled kindness, and of all the other delightful people we met. We will return!

My wife and stayed in the Hotel a week ago for two nights. I didn't immediately find advertising for the Hotel (when searching through Google) but eventually I saw an article in the Daily Telegraph and decided to take the plunge. I have to say that we have done a fair amount of travelling around the world and have stayed in many 5*star/boutique Hotels. I can't quite put my finger on why, but this is probably the best Hotel that I have ever stayed in. Humble, charming, great attention to detail, wonderful views, an easy scooter ride from the main port, amazingly friendly manager who helped us with all our questions (thank you Maurizio!), Cas'alamare is one of those places that you make you feel that you are staying in a private home. Thank you very much. We will definetly return at some point.

Truly a hidden gem at a paradise-like location!

Beautifully designed, well-maintained and with a special, serene and relaxing Zen-feeling all around.

Graziella is the most charming, knowledgeable hostess one could possibly imagine and we decided to stay longer than originally planned and could luckily extend our booking.

Definitely do the aperitivo at Cas'almare- it is wonderfully prepared, lovely food, together with a very good bootle of wine served at an unforgettable setting on the balcony overlooking the sea and watching the sunset.

We also rented a scooter and drove around the island to visit different beaches and it was just heaven on earth.

We would love to come back!
