Ammos is truly amazing!!!Everything of this beautiful tavern starting from its menu, it's service , the atmosphere around, to its decor makes it a great place both for lunch and dinner. The food is delicious and Angelos is a great guy to propose you the ideal catch of the day and cook it as you wish it. Make sure to try the vinsanto!!!

“good fish, kind”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

the waiter gave us a look in the kitchen and showed us the fishes, old greek style. the fish was too expensive in my opinion (around 60e) but very tasty and good. the waiter was funny and very kind, very entertaining. nice view onto the beach and the beautiful sea horizon of santorin!
later in the night, nice buzuki (traditional greek instrument) & guitar playing while drinking a cocktail, was very nice.

“Excellent meal at Ammos”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Dined at Ammos on our second night of our holiday in Santorini after reading the reviews on Trip advisor.

Welcomed into the restaurant and was quickly provided with a table for 9 which wasn't a problem. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly, nothing was ever a problem or too much. Service was good, sometimes a little slower than what we are used to at home but that was not an issue.

Food was excellent, everybody had good things to say about what they had eaten, not a negative comment in sight. The pork chop is huge!- I hope you are hungry if you order it! I had the lamb chops and there were several on my plate.

After our meal we were greeted by one of the cooks whilst drinking our provided Vin Santo wine (sweet wine of Santorini), asking us if we had enjoyed our meal and she thanked us for dining at the restaurant. I thought this was a lovely touch to our experience and I would definitely return to Ammos.

Do give Ammos a try if you are walking past it :)

“Great lunch by the best beach in Santorini”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

For us Perivolos was the best beach in Santorini.. At least for a young family with a 9 month year old. There is plenty of shade from the sun and the sand is more bearable than other beaches on the Island where the sand will boil the plastic in your flipflops or take a couple of layers of skin.

Along with the best beach comes the best place to eat a lovely summer lunch by the sea. Ammos is a great, family friendly lunchspot. the owners are a wonderful couple that make you feel right at home. I can only describe it as a great family atmosphere. kind of like visiting your favorite aunts house.

We ordered the fish which was fresh and well cooked and a great santorini salad which was very refreshing. They made us try the local desert that was freshly made (a type of syrup dessert that was wonderful) and brought us complementary watermelon to clean our palate.

i would highly recommend this family restaurant to everyone!

“Amazing food and a warm welcome three years on...”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

This was my second visit to the Ammos Taverna which was located close to our hotel on the black sand of Perivolos. It was great to see the owners again and the food was even better than I remember. We ate there almost every day and enjoyed their own Ammos salad, a twist on a traditional Greek salad with traditional rusk croutons that soaked up the oil, vinegar, capers and sweet, sweet tomatoes.

Apart from the Ammos salad, the highlight was unquestionably the seafood. The chargrilled octopus was superb but my favourite dish was the mussels saganaki... mussels in a creamy tomato and feta sauce. Absolutely delicious. If you're looking for real Greek food, Santorini wine and the warmest of welcomes then don't miss the Ammos Taverna!
