“Very pleased with this hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2012

Having been to Perrisa / Perivolos In september we were very happy to find a nice friendly location. The rooms were clean and airy, we were on the second flood and could open the room door and the balcony door to get a good breeze through the room. There is a free wifi connection but was a bit hit and miss because of the wind. We were on the second floor overlooking the jacuzzi, we got the sun in the afternoon in time for tea. In the morning we were in the shade but we still had breakfast outside. There seemed to be a lot of flies around but this seemed to be all around so a fly swat and spray are recommend.
Beds were made daily and there was a good supply of hot water. We didn't get the chance to eat here and missed the greek night which looked to have been a good night.
we checked out at around 11 in the morning but were not collected until 7 in the evening, there is an excellent shower facility and your bags are stored up by the bar for you, so this was a huge bonus. The family were all very polite and chatty even though we didn't spend on the premises which in the past in other places has meant the cold shoulder.
Overall a good base for getting around, there is a bus stop near by.

Room Tip: bring some fly spray

Arrived for one weeks stay here from 8th May to 15th May 2012, accommodation was above expectation for Greece. We stayed in maisonette's 301 to 305 which are situated at the front of the property and have the advantage of the afternoon and evening sun on the balcony which was very pleasant. The room had 1 double upstairs and 2 singles down on the bottom , we always slept well, but then we only used the downstairs beds , being a couple. The kitchen area has almost everything you should need. The property is 200m from a nice beach (Black Sand) and what we call an esplanade to walk either left or right were all the bars and restaurants are situated. All the food you require when doing your self catering bit can be got from the Supermarket COOP on the main road up right from the hotel to main road then turn right for a 20 min walk , prices there good, and they will transport you back with your groceries , which is a good service in the hot day sun , you can get local wine here at the back of the store , that you get in 1.5 litre plastic bottles for 2.45 euro's which is not really bad at all.

As for dining out and having a nice evening drink out - we found that Atlantis was a good spot with good food at really reasonable prices for the area (You will not pay the prices they pay in Fira the capital ) The Atlantis Bar is run by a Canadian David and his staff are all good. Others are Gods Garden that always has good reports , and you must try a couple of times Meteora (with Princess Irene and her husband Roland) this is turn left from illiada 200m to top of road and turn left then 100m on right - here you will have a great night IF you like lots of entertainment along with your meal (Judge for yourself) we thought Irene was a FIRECRACKER.

The resort was quiet at the time we went - but we enjoyed every minute in a fantastic location - I would suggest were and if possible to rent a car for a couple of days to see the island - the rental company at the top of the road (right turn from accommodation) then just at the corner are fair and can be bartered with for a price. Fira and Oia not to be missed - best place to see sunset like a lot of advice as been given is from Santo Winery where you can sit and watch the sunset with glass of nice wine without paying the price they expect in Fira. With the euro exchange good at the moment this is a bonus for travellers to here.

Forgot to mention Dorian's Bar on the main road just down from COOP on right , Lovely man NIKKOS in a lovely bar (Day or Night ) can get large beer for 2 euro's and his cocktails are fab at 3 euro's and the choice is extensive ( Dont try to go through the card though?) All in all you will enjoy your stay here i am sure .

The Lliada was a lovely small family run hotel,Nikolas and his family were so lovely, they couldn't do enough for you,we left there feeling like part of the family, the rooms were quite basic but were very clean, we met lots of lovely people, and the views on the island was breathtaking. We cannot wait to go back to Santorini, and hopefully to the Lliada.

Just spent 7 days in this hotel and the family who own the apartments became our good friends. We were well looked after, lovely bar-b-que for our last evening. Nothing was too much trouble. Our host Nikolas was such a great guy and made sure everyone was looked after.
Beautiful area and scenery was amazing, although the beach was hard work as its volcanic rock/grit. Sunset cruise was fab, lovely atmosphere on board, did not want to leave.Local restuarants only 5 min walk were reasonable and the food was lovely.
Quiet at this time of year, really warm and good for couples or olders.

I and a friend stayed here at the end of Sept/beg Oct for a week. We were pleasantly surprised how nice the studios were for the package price we had paid. The bathroom was small with a shower but adequate for us and it was nice to have a fridge and kettle in the room. Aircon and the safe was extra and whilst we paid for the safe the evening temperatures were cool enough without being cold that we could do without the aircon. The room soundproofing was not the greatest but this did not really affect us too much and the apartment was very clean.

Its a short walk to the black sand beach and as it was near the end of season the resort was quieter than usual which suited us! We had our choice of sunbed locations with no crowds around us and by buying drinks did not pay for the sunbed hire per se.

All the restaurants and cafes we went to served great food and a carafe of wine was very reasonable. Drinks at the apartments were more expensive so we tended not to drink there and did not have breakfast either preferring a cafe on the seafront which did delicious Greek omelettes.

We did a day trip to Thira for the wonderful views and great shops and took the boat at Perissa to Kamari which was much more touristy and I did not enjoy so much. In all I loved Perivolos and will definitely be returning. It is a quieter resort and there were not many families there with young children though the time we went could explain why.

i feel others may like to know that the appartments were fine but please beware that if you book breakfast as part of the package its not worth it. we paid £7 each per night for breakfast as extra and only got a very basic continental one we could have had a really good breakfast elsewhere for less but we had stayed here before and had a really great meal a few years ago

Room Tip: had a nice sunny room near the bar
