We have recently returned from a week and had a wonderful time. Although the hotel is simply Greek and not what I would class as luxurious we had a lovely room overlooking the pool area which delivered everything we expected. The hotel is small and never felt over crowded - very relaxing. The pool areas was lovely with comfortable sun loungers which were always available - never a rush in the morning (the pool was clean and a good size). There was also the backup of the lovely beach right in front of the hotel with free sunloungers and umbrellas for hotel guests.

There was a snack restaurant which served a good selection of hot and cold foods and was perfect for lunch. The staff were friendly and would also serve drinks around the pool and at the beach. Massages next to the pool area were also available for around 40 euros...this was quite popular but we didn't get round to booking one!

There are many restaurants a short walk away with plenty of choice.

We hired a car from the hotel reception (after deciding against the quad bike idea!!) and was great to spend the day visiting beautiful Oia and Fira...this should not be missed. The hotel also arranged our transer to and from the airport which is only 20 mins away and was 25 euros each way.

The breakfast was basic as most have said so we didn't really bother with it...but it's included and depends what you like to eat in the morning. Apparently the hotel provides towels for the pool but we weren't aware of this. There is a fridge in the room but no glasses other than those in the bathroom. Air con had a quiet setting so you could leave it on at night. Rooms were cleaned everyday.

If you are looking for a week to relax walking distance from restaurants with a fab pool and beach then you can't go wrong. Loved it and would visit again for sure!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool/sea had a nice terrace/balcony. We had room 11.

This was our first trip to Santorini and we weren't disappointed. The beachfront location is great and in a quiet section of Perivolos. There are lots of tavernas only a short distance away.
The hotel was full, yet felt very exclusive and was quiet on the whole. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much to ask. My best friend from Greece even called the hotel reception and the guy came to find me to tell me!
The rooms were basic, but very clean and comfortable. We had a fridge, which was great as we went to the supermarket which is about a 7-8 minute walk and stocked up. Breakfast was continental style - breads, yoghurts, cerial, cake, coffee, orange juice and all fine.
Couldn't fault the hotel at all. The lady that works in the bar next to the pool (short blonde hair) is very friendly!!! Would most definitely return.

We stayed at the Atlantis Beach Villa on a B&B basis (although you can stay self catering) and when you arrive you are greeted by a beautiful pool area, overlooking the sea.
We were shown our room, but we did not like it, as it was situated right at the back of the complex with no view of anything and seemed abit stuffy and dark, so we upgraded to a sea view room...(with Thompson this cost around £70 for 1 week).
I would say it is worth asking/booking for a sea view as the other rooms do not seem to have much of a view at all.

Our new room was lovely and bright, overlooking the pool and the sea and had wonderful views and a nice big balcony.
The room itself is pretty basic, and the bathroom is typically Greek, with a shower not attached to the wall! Which can be abit frustrating when trying to wash you hair and i ended up dropping it a few times, with the shower hose then spinning around and soaking the bathroom - but don't let this put you off! The shower works fine and is adequate. (Don't forget with Greek plumbing you have to put toilet paper in the bin - not down the toilet!)
The bed is comfy, however the pillows are quite hard! There is a/c, which is very nice as it gets very hot at night....and the fridge is certainly helpful and was large enough to store water, wine, biscuits etc... There is also a hair dryer.

The breakfasts were very basic and continental. There was plenty there, bread, ham and cheese, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, tea and coffee. My husband enjoyed it however I struggled so i ended up buying a box of museli and taking my own down each morning!

The pool area was the best part of the holiday and of the complex. It is very quiet and relaxing, the pool bar food and drinks selection is good quality, tasty and not expensive, i had lunch there every day and we would often go for a drink there on the evenings.
The sun loungers are comfy and spaced apart, and as there are not many rooms, there are not many people! So we would often have the pool to ourselves, which was lovely.
There was nice music at the pool bar and the staff - Dina especially - are lovely and helpful and friendly.

Across a small (not busy) road is the beach. There are free sun loungers there and the pool bar staff will bring you food and drinks. The sand is hot and black and I found it very hard on my feet - good for exfoliating!
I found it quite difficult to walk along in the sea and paddle, as the sand is strange and you literally sink every time you move!

For bars and restaurants, you can either turn left or right out of the hotel.
There didn't seem to be that many when you go right, so we went left each night.
It is not a 5 minute walk....so be prepared for a bit of a walk to get to the MAIN selection of restaurants. Yes, there are a bout 2 or 3 bars/tavernas approximately a 10 min walk, but we didn't bother with these as they were always empty, so carried on walking to the main part where there was more choice - this is about a 15-20 min walk. You soon get used to it.
There are some wonderful tavernas, but everyone likes different things, so I will just say the ones we liked the most.....

Tranquilo (Chill out bar/restaurant) - our favorite. Very laid back and relaxing, looks like a bar but does the most amazing fresh, organic and alot of vegetarian food (meat and fish also!) We went twice for the 'Veggie Plattter' and every night for cocktails - they do huge cocktails, full of fresh fruit and lots of alcohol! Staff are lovely and friendly and the music is nice and relaxing. Nice comfy sofas overlooking the beach.
Poseidon Restaurant - Very friendly and great choice of food - not that much for vegetarians though - lovely pizzas!
Aphrodite Restaurant - Lovely place - great service, and the grilled feta is to die for. Lots of choice.
Also visited Pergola, where the food was nice but service wasn't great and the Atlantis Restaurant (part of the hotel, you will get a voucher for free wine) the food portions were very small and the service was not very good - more interested in trying to get people in off the street.

TIP! For a shop/supermarket - when we asked where the nearest one was we were sent to the 'Co-Op' which is a huge supermarket but is a long walk - about 25 mins - and in the heat we found it very hard going and if you are carrying alot of drinks/food back, you might need a car/moped.
However - if you just want a normal shop - for things such as water, crisps, biscuits, holiday essentials, gifts, there is a smaller shop where the tavernas are - just turn right and walk for about 15 mins - we wish we had found this one before we went walking all the way to the big one! We found it easier to stock up while we were up that way on the evening rather than walking around in the day!

Overall, I would go back here but would have to book a sea view room.
The views are lovely and the pool area is one of the best I have ever been to.
Restaurants and bars are nice, a little quieter than we are used to...not alot for teenagers, mainly older couples. But a beautiful, relaxing place to visit.

There are lots of tips you can go on (we didnt bother as it was so hot so we did not want to move!) and lots of people hired cars, or quad bikes.

Alot of the young Greek boys have motorbikes/mopeds and they do tend to race up and down the road a little bit, which can be a little annoying and noisy at times.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view/pool view.

We have just returned from two weeks at the Atlantis Villa and the stunning island of Santorini. I almost feel embarrassed to say anything negative about the whole experience but I think it is right to mention two small points.

About three quarters of the rooms on this small complex have no view worth mentioning so do not expect to see the sea and in some instances do not expect to see much other than another apartment. The hot water seems to stop at about 7.0pm daily so have an early shower.

That said, the villa complex has a superb pool and bar area – far above the standard of the accommodation complex. Rooms are basic but the daily maid service is excellent – the room is cleaned and you are given fresh towels every day. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. An earlier reviewer said the bar closes at 8.0 pm but it stays open much later from 1st. June.

There is a small road between the hotel and the beach but do not let this put you off. It is not very busy and does not interfere with the hotel pool, bar or the hotel sunbeds on the beach. The sand on the beaches is black but does not stick to you or your clothing and just brushes off with your hand.

There is an enormous choice of bars and restaurants 5 minutes walk to the left or right of the hotel, all situated on the beachfront. These open from very early in the morning for breakfasts to late at night for meals. All the bars offer the free use of their sunbeds all day if you buy a drink from them and they all have beach service for more drinks and food so no need to move until you want to.

We ate in eleven different restaurants during our two week stay and never had a bad meal. Every reviewer seems to have their favourites but half the fun is finding your own.

We hired a car (small with air con) for £15 a day and took ourselves off to Fira and Oia. Fira is busy with all the cruise ship customers and Oia is smaller but nicer. Both offer stunning views and you must visit one of them or you have missed the essence of Santorini.

Do not be duped into going to either Fira or Oia for the view of the sunset and paying a small fortune for the privilege of eating there at dusk. There are plenty of places to enjoy the sunset and eat for half the price – just ask any local in Perissa where to go.

All in all a stunning island, great restaurants & bars, first class hotel pool complex, and excellent hotel staff. It’s just a shame about the layout of the hotel accommodation but many will say they don’t spend enough time in their room or balcony to care – and they may be right. But for me it might mean that if and when I return to Santorini I will stay elsewhere.

The Atlantis is situated right on Perivolos Beach - there's only the pool and bar between the beach and the rooms. It's bed and breakfast but the bar serves tasty and reasonably priced food and there are good restaurants nearby (Lava was our favourite). The hotel has its own sunloungers on the beach which have waiter service and can be rented at 3 euros a day. The rooms are quite basic but clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are tasty. We had a perfectly relaxing time.

When I booked the hotel I looked at the reviews and the pictures provided. The comments were all pretty positive and the pics looked nice. I was happy with the location and the staff was helpfull and nice. However the pictures I saw were miss leading. We booked a double sea view room and when we got there we had a room that looked out onto an unkept land scape whith a view of the water across the street. Also our bed was two twin beds pushed together and they felt like rocks and springs. The bath room was poor and in need of some serious updating. The water pressure was a trickle and the water from the shower leaks all over the floor so your bathroom was a constant wet room . All in all I would not stay there again
.
