“Absolutely Beautiful”
Reviewed 18 March 2014

Upon arrival we were greated by hotel staff who assisted us in lifting our cases up the step to the hotel. Whilst a bus load of us were waiting in the reception area to check in, we were the last to be seen, we waited no more than 15 minutes. After check-in we were taken by a member of staff who carried both of our heavy suitcases right to the door of our room.

Entering the room we were pleased to see a very clean and airy bedroom. The room was of a decent size, not overly spacious but perfect for the two of us. The cleaners were fantastic, our rooms were cleaned, swept and mopped every day we were there. We were also given fresh towels every day and clean bed sheets half way through our stay. Any requests for fresh sheets, towels or toilet rolls were dealt with instantly. If we were occupying the room the maids would always return later on to clean.

Whilst the breakfast was repetitive there was nothing to be faulted. The tables and food were prepared nicely and staff with tea and coffee would walk round offering tea and coffee and topping up cups which had already be made. The restaurant area was very clean and had a nice atmosphere, especially with the sun shining.

The pool area was cleaned every day, the hotel and grounds as a whole were in an impeccably clean state.

The beach could not be any closer if you tried. The hotel sun beds on the beach are free but not very comfortable. A second to the right of the hotel beds are very modern and comfy sun beds provided by the cafe next door. You can use the sun beds and umbrella all day, all you have to do is by one drink. The waitress comes to your bed takes your order and brings it to you. The beach is quite breezy but we found it perfect for the particularly hotter days. WEAR SHOES on the beach, we found the black sand unbearable to stand on in the heat.

Overall, you will have a wonderful stay if you choose this hotel. Restaurants line the beach for a good mile and some. Definitely take the opportunity to take an organised trip around the island and see the sunset in Oia.

It was a truly wonderful trip.

Room Tip: Our room had our patio area between the pool and the restaurant. It was a perfect location and compl...

Check in - we arrived on mass and were greeted and directed quickly and professionally as could be expected, we were last and directed to an under ground room but was told to return to reception in the morning if we were not happy. The room itself was very good but the position of the room was very poor, I will not dwell on this as we were promptly moved the following day when a room became available, it seems this room is only used when overbooked but I wish they did not use it at all as it was the only bad thing I could say about this Hotel.
Public areas are clean and well maintained, Free WiFi, Air Con and Towels. The three swimming pools are small but great for a post breakfast/afternoon dip they are not intended for laps to ready yourself for the cross channel swim. Breakfast was fantastic! Continental, English (its greek style English, so Bacon is possibly made of turkey and the sausages are Hotdog type, tomato ketchup is available for those of you that should have gone to Spain) and Greek options of Fruit, Yoghurt Oats and Bran. Fill your plate as many times as you like with the attentive resturant staff refilling your coffee till you pop.
There are many Tavernas along the strip however I strongly recommend the Hotels evening meal, I have never eaten so well in all my days and I consider myself well dined, again Buffet style European and Greek dishes, as much as you can handle and all at a very competitive rate of 15 Euro (7.50 for Kids)(Correct 2013). The Staff were all great, many of them have been working here for a number of years and it is clear they enjoy their work. The Hotel has a private strip of beach just across the quiet road; it is Black sand and drops away quickly so weak swimmers please use the hotel pool. Santorini is all it was promised and I can not recommend a better base for those of you that enjoy a more greek that costa holiday. There is plenty to fill your days and you do not need the expensive tours offered by the reps, get the Bus to Thira and then onto Oia for a walk around, no need to join the crowds for the sunset as you can sit in a Restaurant in Pyrgros which is higher than Oia for a better view and cheaper too! Pyrgros is very popular with those getting Wed, if we were going to do that again I can think of no better place on Earth! Brilliant, Great and Fabulous

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 206, close to the pool, shaded balcony with a private entrance.

We booked through Thomas Cook to stay here and had seen mixed reviews about it. Our rep was quite young but gave us some good advice for getting around the island and seeing new things which was useful.

The hotel was friendly and comfortable with large rooms and good facilities. The pools were excellent to cool down in and the area around was good with great bar service to your sun lounger. Wouldn't recommend the 'private beach' as the black sand was very hot and the sea wasn't too inviting.

We stayed bed and breakfast so couldn't comment on the dinner service but breakfast was more than adequate; buffet style with toast, hot food selections, cold selections and fresh fruit every day.

We went on a couple of excursions through Thomas Cook and spend a few days exploring ourselves. The boat trip to the volcanic island is worthwhile as you get fantastic views of the island and some interesting background history. The trip up to Pirgos for dinner was also great as the food was excellent and then we walked up to the top of the venetian castle for the sunset which was extraordinary - the most incredible sunset I've ever seen.

We took a local bus to Thira the capital - around €3 so pretty cheap. Thira is good for exploring and a walk down past the donkeys to the port is well worth it. We then walked from Thira to Oia which took around 4 hours but we saw some beautiful scenery on the way. There is a bus to Oia if you don't fancy the walk. Oia is a must visit place as there is a wonderful view of the sunset over the ocean and it is a lovely place to walk around with the marble paths and traditional white-washed buildings.

Overall the hotel wasn't amazing (advertised as 3/4 star - more like 2/3) but most of our day was spent either by the pool or out on excursions. If your meals aren't included then a must is to walk out of the hotel at the beach-end and turn right along the seafront. There are some fantastic traditional Greek restaurants (Nets do incredible fresh seafood) for reasonable prices. Turning left will take you into Perivolos which is more lively but a bit tacky.

Room Tip: ground floor rooms are cooler as they are in the basement!

Breakfast was really good; couldn't recharge iPhone in room. Was there in mid September on a singles group tour. Within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. If you use a wash cloth when bathing you better take your own because the hotel doesn't provide it.

visited Satorini in June this year, had read mixed reviews on this hotel ad most of the negatives were right (ufortunately) although very clean the hotel was extremlely old and in need of a comjplete refurbishment, shower full of mould and very smelly. Stayed on bed and breakfast basis and have to say its probably the worst breakfast I have ever had, not a great deal of choice and always stone cold, tried varying times when we ate, as soon as opened etc but the same, stone cold. The pool area was lovely and well kept very clean and pool bar served nice food which was cooked to order and hot. Not much in the area, few bars and restaurants which were all sturggling for business bit of a boring resort, wouldnt stay here again or recomend certainly not a four star hotel.

Pros: location on the beach, service/staff, lovely grounds, good food, good size room & bathroom. Hotel says there is no wireless in the rooms, but their lobby signal was so good that we could pick it up in the room and even on the beach.
Cons: basic rooms - definitely not 4 star, really hard bed, ancient TV.

We stayed here as a group of 4 adults and 2 children (aged 4 and 3 months) in Sept 2013.
What a great place. The staff are so friendly and great with kids. The 4 pools were great and loads of room to find a personal space around the pool with comfy sun loungers. No need for towels for beach or pool (wished we had known as could have packed lighter!!) Breakfast was very nice - sooo much to choose from. The rooms are very spacious and clean.
