“Santo Miramare Resort”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

Just back from 2 weeks family holiday at Santo Miramare Resort. The hotel location is amazing, has 4 lovely pools, always very clean and has its own private beach area. The hotel was full but never felt busy, sun beds always available by the pool or by the beach although some of them are broken or have torn covers and are in need of replacing.
We booked half board and glad we did because it quickly became apparent that eating out was expensive although there are lots of eating places if that's what you like.
Santorini is quite an expensive Island so take lots of euros!
If you book any trips out be sure to get a detailed itinerary, we booked a boat trip from the hotel with Kamari tours and along with many others were disappointed it was not as described!
We all very much enjoyed our holiday but if I were to find one reason not to return to Santorini it would be the airport, it's a joke! disorganised chaos!

Room Tip: Rooms on a high floor with sea view are best.

stayed for a week and our room was kept spotless. the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is just over a quiet road from its own beach. The breakfast was good and although we only eat twice in the evening the buffet at 15 euro was good value. The pools are very clean and there are usually plenty of sunbeds. If not by the pool then on the beach. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Turn right on the seafront and walk to Popeye's great food and good value.

Room Tip: 1st or 2nd floor gives you a better view

Myself & family stayed here for a week on bed and breakfast basis, the hotel grounds are beautiful and very clean, our room was spacious and clean the maid came everyday with fresh towels and did a great job,the staff were very friendly and as we had a baby with us made it clear if we needed anything at all just to ask they seemed very keen to please us, the breakfast was fine, enough choice to suit most people. If I were to be picky I'd just say the pools could have done with a clean as there were a fair amount of dirt at the bottom but some days very windy so this could be expected but we never saw anyone cleaning them during our stay but it wasn't enough to put us off we would defiantly recommend this hotel and would stay there again. Location wise was great, gorgeous view of the beach, lovely restaurants and bars within easy reach and about 20 mins from airport

The hotel and staff were very good ,the rooms were spotless and overall very good.
The one thing that let's the hotel down is their sunbeds on the beach .
If you go out the gates and go to your right you will find plenty of comfortable sunbeds which you can use if you buy a drink from the restaurant which owns them . the hotel lost out as we ate and drank at one of these every day.we hired a car for a couple of days and explored the island which was amazing .i would highly recommend santorini it's the best Greek island we have been to.

Wow.... first time to Santorini and not disappointed, ok well the first day's weather was ish but that's not controllable, so here goes:
25mins from the airport to the hotel, it was absolutely fantastic, very very clean from the steps outside right the way to your room. The rooms were spacious, twin beds, sofa, table and fridge, to be fair for how long you are in it it was more than enough....the shower as always in Greece was hot/cold/hot/cold/cold/hot lol but that adds to the fun...
cleanliness was a priority for the staff in your room and by the pool and eating areas...the poolside area had more than enough sunbeds without having to fight the towel brigade.
The poolbar was the place to have your drinks with a great view over the road to the Aegean Sea and the restaurant was very clean, quite intimate really but not over crowded and the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you.
the 3 pools and Jacuzzi were cleaned daily and were a welcoming sight to cool you down.
we went half board and whilst the food was basic it was all very good, not to do an injustice if we had known there were so many local places to eat we would have stayed B&B.
location is great, right on the beach and at the beginning of a 4km strip of tavernas, grill houses, bars, mini markets and gift shops, there really is something for all ages.
recommend margarita's snack bar, amebos, Kelly's and Apollo which is a little further up the strip.
loved the fact the resort was self contained and right on the beach also that it was near everything but not affected by any noise from them.
no real dislikes it was a great relaxing holiday and the miramare comes highly recommended,

Room Tip: high poolside rooms will give a great sea view back rooms face the road

My Husband and I stayed here with our family at the beginning of May 14. We chose this hotel as we got married on the island during our stay and needed a hotel that would accommodate our family & friends. Most hotels on the island are small however this hotel is more of a resort. The hotel is exactly as pictured.

We were upgraded on arrival to a junior suite with the best view of the beach by Panos at reception, who was incredibly helpful for our whole stay. The staff in the restaurant and bar were amazing. We had 3 young children in our party and they were all fantastic with them.

The food was brilliant with lots of choice and was different every day. We went half board and it was well worth it. The morning after our wedding the housekeeper left champagne and glasses in our room, which was lovely.

There are some reviews on here that make the hotel sound dated but actually the rooms were well furnished and decorated. The hotel is traditional but I preferred that! There's lots to do and see along Perivolos beach, Perissa is easy to walk to and there's the BEST 24 hour bakery next to the coop that's well worth visiting.

We hired a car for a day through Panos, which was quick and easy. We then explored the rest of the island. I would really recommend this.

Housekeeping came every day and replaced towels. Beach/pool towels are available from reception every day so you can leave your towels at home. We stayed at the beginning of the season so the hotel was quiet. The pools were FREEZING but once you were in it was fine (if you kept moving!).

The only thing I can think to criticize is that there is no separate dinner for children nor any play equipment but this would have been a bonus. The hotel is amazing even without this.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 303 and it had the best views of the beach!
