“Best value for the money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2014

Pleasant residence...afordable price for a 4member family (110€ including breakfast) into a triple room with a huge double bed and a kingsize single bed...air condtioned with a magnificent niew of the lake and the sourround picturesque villages. Best value for the money.. the only handicap was the swarms of mosquitos around 20.00-22.00 h. Passignano is a colorful village...

After having a nightmarish bug-ridden stay at an agriturismo near Castel Rigone in Umbria (MONTELUCE VILLAS) we cut our stay early and headed to Hotel Lido in Passignano Sul Trasimeno. Although it has a 1970s feel, the location of this hotel was great. It's right on the lake and on the 'strip' near many restaurants, rosticcerias, gelaterias, cafferias, shops, etc. The hotel was very clean, and the rooms were a decent size for European standards. Breakfast was included in the price and it exceeded our expectations compared to other hotels we stayed at in Milan. Breakfast included juices, yogurts, cereals, breads, brioches, fruit, coffee, water, meats and cheeses. Hotel staff was very friendly and remembered how my husband and I liked our coffees in the morning. The pool area was nice however the water was a bit murkey and a touch on the green side. There was a festival going on during our stay (Palio delle Barche) so it was noisy until about midnight but otherwise it was very comfortable stay and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Lakeview or street view are both good options. We had street view and could see the whole town and c...

We have recently returned from a weeks holiday on a Inghams Lakes and Mountains holiday to Lake Trasimeno. The hotel, Hotel Lido was excellent, the staff were helpful, friendly and courteous. Our lake facing room was on the 4th floor, view was stunning particularly at sunset. The room was clean and comfortable with good air conditioning. The dining room was bright, airey with lovely lake views. The breakfast was the usual continental, cereals, ham and cheese etc. The evening meal was quite good although limited. The pool had a snack bar but lacked toilet and changing facilities, the pool itself was good. Getting to places like Assisi and Perugia was easy by local train, buy your tickets from the station buffet. We were lucky that the local Boat Palio was on all week, the highlight being the firework display on the Wednesday night. We really had a lovely week's holiday.

Room Tip: Top floor lake view

The hotel Lido has a stunning location on the edge of Lake Trasimeno. We picked a lake view room and it was well worth the extra money. The hotel staff were very friendly but the hotel itself is in need of some tlc. The swimming pool in particular was full of green algae around the edges and we never saw anyone cleaning it throughout our stay. We ate in the hotel's restaurant. The food was good but once again the location could do with a complete refurb. This could be a stunning wedding or party location overlooking the lake but felt more like a school canteen in atmosphere.

This hotel is in a good position on the lake. You can walk to many restaurants and along the lake. It is near the ferry that takes you to the islands in the middle of the lake. You are also in a convenient location to visit many towns in Umbria and Tuscany.

Room Tip: The lake view rooms are wonderful.

We stayed at this hotel with Inghams Lakes and Mountains in June, just when a heat wave struck. The air conditioning could not cope and as we were told to close all windows at night because of huge insects, it was very uncomfortable. This fridge in the room didn't cool anything, but was told this was "normal". Everything else was fine. The room was a good size and as we were on the top floor had lovely views over the lake. The sheets were only changed once but towels were changed every day. Breakfast was very basic, -cornflakes or muesli, rolls with cheese or ham, croissants, yogurt and tinned fruit. The evening meal was good and you had a choice of about 3things ( which you chose at the meal the previous night) waiters and waitresses were excellent. On the Saturday night there was a live group playing next to the hotel which was extremely loud and went on until 2am!!!! You couldn't even hear the TV.
The resort of Passignano was very quiet. Not much there at all. If it hadn't been for the excursions arranged by Inghams it would have been really quite boring. We did get to Florence on the train which took about 1hour 50 mins. The train also went into Perugia and Assissi. The ferry only went to a small island and then on to Castiglione but there was lots of waiting involved on the island.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor with lake view.

We stayed at this hotel with Treyn Holidays. we were caught up in the French rail strike & arrived very late & tired after many delays & changes of trains. We could not get a train to Passignano as we had missed our connection but the hotel arranged taxis to collect us from the nearest available station. The restaurant staff stayed on & served us a hot meal on our arrival at 11.30 at night. This reflected the excellent service from all the staff for the rest of our stay.

Passignano is a small town on Lake Trassimeno & the hotel is right on the lake near to the departure point for the ferries to the islands. There are lots of restaurants but I can't recommend any as we were on half board & ate in the hotel where the food was good for this type of package. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean & while not huge are perfectly adequate for a couple. Our room was on the front of the hotel but we found it quite quiet. all in all I would recommend this hotel.
