“Serves a purpose but nothing more”
Reviewed 16 April 2010

Just back from a 3 night stay. Below average in most respects and not wortn the £80 a night price (+breakfast).
Good Points ?
Nice location and easy access to Guildford, room nice and large.Staff friendly. Rooms clean. Bed reasonably comfy.
Bad points ?
In room 10, there is no heating at all in the bathroom, this combined with no double glazing makes it very cold in there. Shower nothing more than a warm dribble at best. Bath isn't much better, slow to fill and tiling around it very tired. Also both sink taps run hot ? not good for teeth brushing !
I think overall the plumbing is very old, in both my room and the next turning off the taps made an almighty clunk !. Also some rooms including 9 and 10 are over the bar etc so noisy. Small breakfast selection.

To sum up it's just all very basic chain hotel, but not worth the £80. To be honest wouldn't stay there again or recommend, sorry Premier Inn but you need to do better to justify the price and get return customers.

We have lived in Guildford, and heavily debated between this location and the other Guildford Premier Inn. This hotel has a restaurant below, and used to be independent - so we weren't too sure since it had been taken over by Premier Inn. What a surprise!
It is modelled on an old manor house, with rooms in both out buildings, and the main house. Up the stairs, there was a nice lounge, with glass doors for noise reducation, then to our room. As a family of 4 we had been given the most enormous room - It must have once been the honeymoon suite. There was a very deep box window, room for the girls to cartwheel if they wished. The two single beds were well seperated from the queen, and each other.
There were chairs to sit and watch TV, as the screen was very far from the bed. Kettle, heaters on the walls, and an enourmous bathroom with shower and tub.
This was the master room, however there are other slightly smaller ones in the main house also.
The only downside would be that some of the roomes, not ours, are directly over the restaurant, and sound does carry. However, for our needs - this hotel couldn't be faulted.
