My wife and I got married here a month ago today and had the most fantastic perfect time. It is a stunning hotel with amazing views, the Great Hall where the ceremony took place is very atmospheric but its the friendly helpful staff that is the magic ingredient! Nothing was too much trouble and they gave such a personal service that they all felt like good friends. Thank you especially to Ben for overseeing our wedding so well and making sure everything ran so smoothly. (also for help with my flat battery the next day!) We cannot praise you enough and have friends who have already booked their wedding with you as they were so impressed. Many, many thanks for helping make our wedding such a stress free and brilliant day!.

After a small problem with the bathroom, mew asked to be moved, we were put in one of the lodges. Fantastic and well worth the extra we paid for the upgrade. The lodges are absolutely great. You couldn't get a better view, from a balcony no less! Wood bunting stove, fancy bathroom, two flat screen TV s it goes on and on, thanks to the manager for sorting this for us. Not our first visit, but most certainly our best in terms of accommodation.

Room Tip: If you can afford it go for a lodge! Otherwise room 116

This was my fourth visit to Raven Hall, and having read the recent reviews I was a little apprehensive, in case it had changed for the worse, but it was as wonderful as ever. We had the same room as our last visit with stunning views over the bay. Our dog was welcomed, the swimming pool was clean and relaxing, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed our after dinner coffee with the dog in the snug lounge, which we had all to ourselves. I have recommended this hotel to friends, and shall continue to do so.

Room Tip: ask for a room overlooking Robin Hoods Bay - no need to pay extra

Went with friends and there small well behaved dog as hotel advertised as dogs are welcome, after a brisk walk on cold November day we went to sit by the log fire to enjoy post walk drinks only to be told we couldn't sit there with the dog and we were moved to a small very cold room with an electric fire that didn't work and was told it was only for show ! We watched another group enjoying afternoon tea by the fire, so in the evening having left the dog in the room we went to order a bar meal by the fire only to be told we couldn't eat there , we were not made to feel welcome by any of the staff and completely disappointed , Alvin the manager was very rude to my wife.

Room Tip: If you have a dog do not go here in cold winter months

This is the 4th year we have had an autumn break at Raven Hall Hotel and once again we were not disappointed. The rooms are clean though our bathroom was tired and in need of refurbishment all our friends had room where the bathroom had been refurbished. The food however is of a very high quality and vary varied each evening some very appetising choices had to be made. We were in a party of 8 old friends and we enjoyed our time in the hotel. The public areas, are very cosy and welcoming with a lovely log fire as the center piece. The hotel was full "Faith Week" was also taking place apparently an annual event so the staff were very well occupied but it did not deter the excellent service, attentive without being fussy. There are stunning views form most of the hotel rooms some overlooking Robin Hoods Bay.

Room Tip: We were in room 209 and the bathroom is in need of refurbishment.

Arrived with friends to a breathtaking view looking over to Robin Hoods Bay. That's the only good thing the hotel offers! Room was ok but bathroom not the cleanest of rooms. Asked when booking if dogs were allowed to stay & was told they were welcome. Welcome meaning that you could only sit with them in a cold side room near the front door. When asked if we could vacate the bar area as the dog could cause allergies to people we asked rather confusingly why they state that dogs are welcome? Surely they Hoover a carpet in the bar as often as they would Hoover a bedroom carpet where we then had to leave the dog?? (We are not talking about a huge Alsatian here but a very small King Charles).
After returning to the bar (minus dog) we ordered some food, to be then told that we coudnt sit in the bar with the bar food as only cold food could be served in there!!! Pretty sure that 'Alin' was making this up as he went along!! Why would you not allow hot bar food be served in the bar area is beyond belief.
Didn't find him or the girl on reception particularly helpful as they both only knew how to shrug their shoulders on both issues and we will not be recommending anyone to visit this hotel.
It is a wonderful location with the possibility of it being a great hotel if run by the much needed improved customer services and friendly, accommodating staff that it needs.

we had a lovely night away to rest and relax and enjoy a 4- poster bed, wonderful breakfast and a morning by an open log fire before a walk over the cliffs and beach to Robin Hood Bay.
Felt resfreshed
The only down side was the noisy guests late at night who had no consideration for those who might already be sleeping.
