As part of a large group (22) we were really pleased with the service at both the bar and restaurant. The pool was small but a lovely way to pass the rainy afternoon away with the sauna too. The rooms were very nice with sufficient space and lovely views.

We decided to use Ravenscar as our turn around point on a walk from Robin Hoods Bay and due to the National Trust place and the tea rooms being closed (out of season) we ended up in the hotel. The hotel clearly has a particular clientele (which is fine!) and the menu reflects this (which is fine!) but it could do it better!

Decor - already had Christmas decorations in place (first week in Nov) staff not particularly friendly. Service was slow considering we’d just ordered a tea and cake and a latte. Cake was shop bought, always disappointing, when the hotel ‘feels’ like it should do a good cake for its market.

However, a crackling fire, views out of the window and a welcome stop off point are the plus points, so maybe on reflection the fact that the cake was shop bought, I might be being picky!

Stopped in R503 for two nights which is the largest of the three converted loft suites, which I would highly recommend - certainly worth paying that bit extra for one of the loft suites. We are a bit biased as we got married here in 2014, but the additions in the last few years of the loft suites, plus the update/upgrade of the swimming pool make it a really nice stay. Obviously the views are fantastic but we find the general friendliness and helpfulness of the staff one of the nicer aspects of staying, particularly the staff who serve the evening meal who are a credit to the hotel. The Bonfire themed meals were nice, particularly the Lamb on Saturday night. My only suggestion would be to put a bit more fresh fruit on at Breakfast time for a bit of variance away from the fried buffet.

One night stay in rm 502 on 2nd November. Beautiful, comfortable, clean and spacious room. An absolutely stunning view of the bay can be seen from two Velux windows.
Large bath and shower/pleasing colour scheme. Love the spotlight effects.

Enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. Could not fault the food ! Anna the waitress was very professional and friendly. Breakfast was ok.

The grounds are well maintained. There is also ample seating provided to read whilst looking out at the Sea.

We certainly left rested and rejuvenated after a stay of breathtaking views, good food, beautiful room and excellent customer service.
