The celebration big family lunch ( I was a guest) was booked here as the scenery is amazing .

The food was good apart from the mould on my starter.

The service was shocking. I think we were forgotten about.!!

We will not be returning for a large family gathering.

Such a shame.

Fantastic food. Make sure you take time to enjoy the breakfast. There's something for everyone, so you won't go hungry during the day

Staff very polite and helpful, food was excellent and all came on warm plates. The views from the restaurant are amazing and although is was winter it was a lovely restaurant to eat in.

Sunday lunch takes the form of a carvery plus an a la carte menu. Excellent fare and good value for money. Although this hotel caters for a lot of groups, the dining room is well organised and you can eat here as individuals very easily. The main restaurant affords a wonderful view from Ravenscar north across Robin Hood's Bay. You can see where the old Whitby to Scarborough railway line wound its way around the contour line and past the old alum works. Alum used to be an essential part of the cloth dying industry. You can still see the rudimentary harbour which was carved out of the rock on the shore to allow boats to be loaded. The old railway line is now know as the'Cinder Track' and you can take an easy and fairly level walk from the hotel. For the more energetic there is part of the Cleveland Way which takes you down to near the sea.

The fare on offer is traditional English hotel fare. We couldn't fault it , the food was hot , tasty , excellent service from the friendly mostly eastern european waiting staff . We arrived quite late on a spur of the moment hotel booking and they fitted us in no problem even though it was quite busy.
