“What a fantastic stay”
Reviewed 6 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

That was more then just a stay. We spent 2 nights at the Miniver Rose and had a great time with 2 wonderful people called Stan and Liz. The room was all clean and tidy, the atmosphere very cozy and we had a familiar feeling. It was like we know them for many years but we just met them. Even though being so far away from home I felt being home!!! Thank you very much and see you next year...

“AMAZING, A REAL TREAT”
Reviewed 14 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Just back from our week break at Minerva Rose. We had 2 children aged 11 and 1 with us , both them and us had a fantastic time. Both Liz and Stan were lovely and very patient especially with our youngest, who always wanted to play catch with them. The house itself is very spacious and decorated to a high standard, and the enclosed garden was ideal for the kids to play in. Right in the middle of the high street with local shops right on the doorstep and a play park 2 minutes away, with lovely walks along the river spey and lots of gorgeous beaches within short drives, We all had a great time and will definitely be back

“Thoroughly recommend this accommodation, had a fantastic stay :-)”

Liz and Stan were excellent hosts, catered for every eventuality.

Accommodation was real home from home experience, beds comfy too. Whisky distilleries are a must, lots to choose from. Have visited nearly all in the local area, but would definitely recommend a visit to Aberlour, Glenfarclas, Glenlivet, Tomatin & Glengrant to name a few. The presentations are really informative and gives you a real insight into making whisky and the 'drams' are pretty good too :-)

If like me you love textiles, then there's loads of places to explore. Three Bags Wool in the town has a lovely selection of yarns, and if you want to get creative you can try your hand at making a rug or a lovely picture using needle felt techniques. Sarah is a brilliant tutor, a perfect way to spend the afternoon. Knockando wool mill is worth a visit, they show you how textiles are produced and have spinning group sessions if you want to get involved.

Loads of other places we want to explore, so will definitely be returning xxx

“Amazing!”

An amazing cottage, very well located for distilleries, walking, coastal visits and visits to the Cairngorms. Beautifully clean and well-equipped for our family. Liz and Stan are the most welcoming of hosts and would recommend places to visit as well as providing a cup of coffee on arrival! A lovely garden too for when the weather was nice. A very short walk to the gorgeous River Spey. A short drive to Spey Bay, where ospreys, dolphins and otters can be seen. Something for everyone within a few miles of Aberlour, which is a lovely town for those who prefer to stay local. Stunning views and just around the corner from the Walkers Shortbread factory - with a shop for those with a sweet tooth. I would also recommend deli on the corner for whiskey flavoured ice-cream made in Aberlour!

“Fantastic week in glorious surroundings ,Beautiful cottage, Amazing hosts !”

Just back from a fabulous week at Minerva Rose in Aberlour ! Lovely comfortable cottage slept 6 of us comfortably . Spotlessly clean with everything you need to enjoy your stay including lovely fluffy towels. We had our two dogs with us and they were made totally welcome as well, Liz and Stan even provided towels for the dogs ! One bedroom was on the ground floor which was ideal for my Mum as she struggles with stairs, and there was plenty of seating for everyone. Free Wifi, lots of books and a TV ensured that we were all catered for in the evenings.

Out the front door and you will find a lovely butchers, Fish and Chip shop, Co-op , Paper shop... we used all of them as they were so handy.

Liz and Stan were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble , they have an extensive knowledge of the area and gave us loads of ideas for days out that would suit all ages in our party.

If you like walking there are lots of walks in the area and you are only a few steps away from the Beautiful River Spey. A great walk to start/end your day ! We walked up to The Linn of Ruthrie and spent some time sitting at the waterfall in the glorious sunshine.

The Glenlivet distillery was well worth a visit and was free but there were many more distilleries to choose from within an hours drive.

Aberlour is a perfect base to explore Scotland we visited Loch Ness, Ft Augustus, Fort William, Inverness and also the Glenfinnan Viaduct for the Harry Potter fan in our party.

We went Dolphin Spotting up at Burghead where Stan and Liz have a luxury mobile home which is also Dog friendly ..The dogs loved running along the miles of sandy beach but unfortunately we saw no Dolphins this time...good reason to visit again !!

We spent our evenings down at The Mash Tun whiskey Bar where you can sample a huge range of Whisky. Lovely place for a meal but you need to book as it gets busy. The Locals were all very friendly and more than Happy to suggest places to go and things to try.

We had an amazing time even the weather was good to us, we will most definitely be back and plan to try the Mobile home up at Burghead also
