Stayed at the Bayview on Sunday last. It is years since I last stayed in it. I can only say it is a lovely hotel. Absolutely immaculate, lovely furnishings, spacious room, great food, friendly staff and a wonderful sea view. What more could one want!? I thought it was excellent value for money. We had booked bed and breakfast and then choose to eat in the hotel on the Sunday night. The meal and service were excellent and well priced. Considering the restaurant was packed I was very pleased with the service. There was a lovely buzz about the place. There were numerous vases of yellow roses, lilies and daffodils around the place which were lovely. Lots of brochures of places to visit
locally are displayed. I cannot wait to go back.

My husband and I stayed in the Bayview Hotel as the first few days of our Mini-Honeymoon. Booked through their own website as part of a package - Bushmills Experience. Such fantastic value for money that we opted to upgrade to a superior room. Deal included two nights B&B and one evening meal and the tickets for the Bushmills Distillery. The room was spotless and spacious, the breakfast was spot on and the dinner was amazing - we both had steaks which were perfectly cooked and very generous in portion. All the staff were really helpful and very nice to deal with. Even though the weather was bad (late February), it was still a beautiful area to stay in. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend to others.

Room Tip: If you choose a superior room, you have view of the bay. (not sure you get the view with a standard...

Just back from our spring break with family and as always, staff, restaurant and rooms were excellent. We are always welcomed with a smile and friendly chat and service is always top notch. We come twice a year for a few days and enjoy the food and the craic.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front with a sea view are special.

never been to Portballintrae, never heard of the Bayview hotel but now it's a new place to stop in at. We stayed in a Superior Room and it was amazing, bed was very firm but I had such a sleep! The view was great, we just left the balcony door open in the evening and listened to the waves crashing on the shore. The hotel itself was very nice, free wifi, parking at the back (if you can get a space), warm even in winter, room was massive, bathroom was also big, whirlpool bath was wick, not something that would sway me to make any decisions, I tried it out and it was wick, the shower was the same, not very powerful and if your 5 & foot and taller then you'll struggle washing hair and showering normal.

If the shower was a proper power shower and higher up, my time at Bayview would have been 5stars, but because of this, it gets 4stars. I'll defiantly be back at some stage.

Room Tip: out of all the rooms (standard, superior & premier), the Superior Room is the only room with the...

stayed for 3 nights over valentines weekend - no complaints with the room we were allocated as we had a sea view and a small balcony to take in the air - as previous reviewers have said lighting for make up application is an issue as the rooms are dark - we also found the room to be cold although i do appreciate that while we were staying the weather wasnt particularly good!!
we had lunch and dinner in the restaurant and food quality and quantity was really excellent - no complaints at all and breakfast was also of a high standard although plates did come out greasy around the edges.
on valentines night home made chocolates were left in our room whcih we felt was a very nice touch and also having a morning paper was a nice little added extra.

Room Tip: rooms facing the sea have a relaxing ambience
