“Seaside Delight”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

My husband and I stayed in room 202 at the Bayview on the 19th Jan 2014 as a 35th Wedding Anniversary present from our daughter. The room was lovely and very clean. The Jucuzzi bath was very relaxing. The view was fantastic, it was lovely looking out over the bay. Their food is first class. Good choice of food on the menus and the prices are very reasonable which explains why their restaurant is always packed. I would suggest booking as it's very popular. All the staff are very attentive and polite and they do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We will definitely be booking here again and we have already recommended it to our friends and family. We went up the coast yesterday as it was such a beautiful day and on the way home we stopped at the Bayview for dinner. The restaurant was fully booked no surprise there but the girl squeezed us in between diners which we really appreciated. Once again the food didn't disappoint, high standards as usual. We both love the Bayview and can't wait for our next visit.

Room Tip: We were in room 202 which is one of the larger rooms with a separate seating area with a large bay w...

Stayed at the hotel recently. Sea view room. Beautiful view and the room was wonderful, big and airy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing. Dinner the previous night was out of this world. All the staff are friendly. Have stayed here three times and each time has been fantastic. I will return again very soon.

Room Tip: All rooms very spacious. There is a lift to all floors so suits people of all abilities. Rooms at th...

Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent. At checkout, we mentioned we were visiting the Bushmills Distillery that day and they very helpfully gave us some complimentary vouchers for it (saving us £7.50 each).

Well what can I say that hasn't already been said reading the reviews.Stayed from the 11th of July to the 14th in the hotels premier suite. The room was amazing with the best views of anywhere we had stayed. The jacuzzi bath, comfy bed and private seating area mate this room a must. The bar was a busy wee place with guests and locals mixing.Everyone was so friendly no matter were we went.We will most def be returing.Special mention must go to Trevor no matter if it was first thing in the morning or last thing at night this guy is always front of house mixing with everyone.Ps room 302 is a must for anyone staying.

Sadly, after many years of visiting the Bay view, we will not be returning.

Food last week was poor in quality.

The vegetarian menu consists of 2 options, of which I chose a fresh Italian dish with asparagus and veg. The garlic bread on the top of my meal had been placed on my brothers chicken dish then moved to my plate. The bottom half of the bread was covered in his sauce.

The gluten free menu was poor. With a Caesar salad (minus croutons) the only option.

One gf dessert also. Dry carrot cake and no gf ice cream.

Very disappointed.

On the exterior everything looks ok with acceptable rooms, lift, comfy bed and clean bathroom. However, felt a bit weird from the moment I stepped in. Cold welcome at the reception and also at the morning breakfast. No smiles or welcome.

Ran OUT of hot water in our room, and had to take a cold (and by cold I mean COLD!) shower. Told them next morning and instead of apologizing and looking into the problem, simply ask me if I had phoned the reception. Poor value also, since the room cost us 170 pounds (which is 300+ canadian dollar)

Would not go back. Poor service. Poor value.

Dear Simon Lessard, Thank you for your comments. An inspection of the shower in the en-suite room, immediately after you checked out, which you and your 3 other adult friends occupied, found that there was absolutely no problem and hot water was flowing from the boilers at 62 degrees Celsius , delivering supply to shower heads of 41 degrees Celsius which is the EEC and Health and Safety Executive regulation for hot water supplied safely to hotel rooms. We also checked with other guests who confirmed that there was absolutely no problem with hot water supplied to other en-suites.
It is unfortunate that you or the other adults sharing the room did not contact reception to inform about the problem, this would have given us a chance to check if there was a problem and rectify immediately.

The room which you reserved is a superior family room suitable for 2 adults and 2 children and this was explained to you in various emails, however you requested that all 4 adults would stay in this one room! As explained to you in various emails, all adults would be charged adult prices and this was agreed by you.

The price which you paid, £179.00 included full breakfast and overnight stay in a superior room with sea views. Breaking this down, that is £44.75 per adult and includes government tax of 20% leaving only £35.95 per person for the business
I am sorry if this was too expensive for you.

I wish you and your friends a safe and memorable onward journey,

Kind Regards,

Trevor and the team at Bayview Hotel
