We stayed overnight at the Bayview Hotel for the first time, mainly because the Comfort Hotel, which we stay at regularly, is closed for renovations, and what a lovely surprise. We didn't expect it to be as nice as the Comfort but in fact it was just as good if not better. We booked a standard room and got a sea view which was lovely as the weather was cold so we spent all our time in the hotel which was lovely and warm with a great big log fire. We sat in the sun lounge at the front of the hotel for drinks in the afternoon when we arrived and enjoyed the beautiful sea views. Our room was very large, 6 foot bed, with every comfort and spotlessly clean, including CD player, and the hotel also has a CD library at reception. We had dinner in the hotel and the atmosphere, even though there were not many guests there as it was mid week, was very good. The meal was most enjoyable and the staff very pleasant. Breakfast in the morning was beautiful with smoked salmon and scrambled egg, or an Ulster Fry if you wanted it. We have eaten in this hotel before and always found the food very good. It was the whole experience of the nice reception staff and restaurant staff that made this such a pleasant trip. Because it was off peak it cost less than half price for our stay, which was very reasonable. We will certainly be booking this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone, especially those touring round the Giant's Causeway area of County Antrim.
