This is a great hotel with lovely sea views. Our room was warm, huge queen size bed, jacuzzi bath and large balcony, flat screen TV and free newspapers delivered each morning. Nice ambience in the hotel which is spotlessly clean. Loads of candles lit in the bar and restaurant at night, very good entertainment on Saturday night. Food was excellent with very good service and reasonably priced wines. Looking forward to returning. Great hotel for a break at any time of year.

Dear Al94,
Thankyou so much for your positive and wonderful review about your stay at Bayview, this is very much appreciated especially during these very harsh trading times. I will pass your comments on to the staff and they will be thrilled with such a positive comment about their Hotel,

I stayed with my husband and 2 young sons (a 3 and a 1 year old) during halloween weekend. We had an amazing time! The staff made us feel very welcome and we were able to relax in the bar area in front of an open fire with our 2 sons without any problems. We felt right at home. The food is out of this world, we chose to eat in the hotel restaurant each night because it was that good and the atmosphere was great. The staff were so good with the kids and for once, my husband and I felt we could relax in a restaurant with our children. The views from the hotel are breath taking. The room was spacious and very clean.
Portballintrae is a wonderful village. We watched the halloween fireworks that lit up the bay so beautifully and there was a halloween parade that was very youth orientated. The kids loved it......as well as my husband and myself! This little village can surely put on a show!!
We would describe the area and the hotel a definite hidden gem of Northern Ireland.
Many thanks to the owner/manager for such a wonderful couple of days in the Bayview Hotel.

We spent a very relaxing weekend at the Bayview. Our room had a sea view which was breath taking. Although the Hotel was reasonably busy for the time of year our room was very quiet. The staff were friendly and the food was good. The hotel gave the impression of being maintained\cleaned to a high standard. Finally the Location could not be better for a quiet break or for exploring the Antrim Coast which is stunning. We walked from the hotel to the Giants Causeway via a path which runs from PortBalintrae round the headland to the causeway - a must for any walkers. A bit hard to find but ask in the hotel.

After having stayed at some dubious establishments on our trip around Ireland we were delighted to find the Bayview exceeded our expectations. A lovely room with a superb sea view. Enjoyed a casual drink in the Bar and that lovely fire. The restuarant was packed - a good sign and we weren't disappointed. Very efficiently run with a good menu and reasonably priced wine. the plentiful Staff were all extremely helpful and enthusiastic, really made you feel welcome and at home. Would stay again. Felt like a very well run ship!

Hotel is a great spot for exploring the antrim coast, hotel is comfortable and well maintained with great views but it is really let down by its staff and food. I think with a few people being told to pull there socks up this hotel would do really really well. Jon Jon behind the bar is bar far the best member of staff that we came into contact with. There was a guy playing guitar in the bar on Saturday night which was great. Unless there was a great deal on in this hotel I doubt we would be back as if you are going to spend your money on a few days away I am sure it could be better spent in better hotel.

I have not had the opportunity to stay at this hotel, but I had eaten here on several occasions and have also used the bar and conference facilities. The hotel is lovely and warm and the staff is very helpful and cheery. The food is delicious and good value for money. The hotel is now owned by a local family and it makes all the difference in the world. You walk in and feel like you are welcome. I would recommend the Bayview for anyone looking for a place to stay on the North Coast. It is also handy to all the sights and you can even walk to the Giant's Causeway in under 20 minutes..

stayed in this hotel twice recently, each time had a good experience.

Staff friendly, helpful ,efficient and try to assist at all times. had a room at the front of the hotel with unbelievable views of the bay, Donegal & Scotland. Sunsets were out of this world .
Bedroom, was spacious & clean with as mentioned superb views. Breakfast was good with reasonable choice and good service.Ordered breakfast in bed two days and it was first class, warm food, hot coffee and arrived on time with a paper.
My only down side was the chamber maid discarded all my newspapers that I had not read that day, rather than tidy up and leave them for me.

But all in all a very pleasant stay, in a warm and welcoming environment, where the owner is obvious by his visibility and profile and good management of all aspects.

With the open fire this would be an ideal location for a wild winters visit, and a place to chill. During the summer go to Rathlin Island for the day and see the puffins etc. A great base to explore the North Antrim coast, or go to Donegal.

Bar has improved very much over the past number of years and the staff are friendlier and more efficient, there is a good atmosphere with a good mix of people using the bar, both holiday home owners & residents.

food in the restaurant is satisfactory, perhaps the steaks could be a little thicker, but all in all good.
