Recently visited THE WISHING WELL for an afternoon bite, stretch our legs and let our newest member of the family spend some time on the childrens game section consisting of mainly climbing and crawling equipmnt but unfortunatly no ball pool. The staff were polite, the restaurant was clean and tidy and the menu has it appears had a subtle change of items making it slightly more interesting. There is a well stocked bar but for beer/ale drinkers the choice is somewhat limited sticking to brands that can be found everywhere. I must admit that there is nothing there that stands out and catchs the eye but we did leave feeling that we had been offered a fairly wide choice of foods that had been well presented and well cooked. We would certainly visit the restaurant again if we were in the area and we would recommend it not for a gastronomic delight but for reasonably good value for money that serves its purpose well.

Big room, although view (wall) and lighting was poor, probably in need of a revamp after years of use. Bedside cabinet fell apart, again it had seen better days! Breakfast was excelent with fruit and a great fry up. Not close to town centre but handy if you are passing through.

Room Tip: We had room no 18 on 1st floor which had views of a wall, so try to avoid that side!

The restaurant was nice the breakfast was OK but the dinner was spectacular but in places it was unclean and dirty. The beds were very hard and uncomftable The room was very basic and the WiFi wasn't great also I couldn't have a bath because there was no hot water.

I stay here for 3 days a month. Last month I had a friend stay here who was offered a bucket when the hotel plumbing broke. If this was a third world could try then maybe. No wonder this area is on the uk worst places to live poll. Internet crap and unstable..don't stay here if you need to work remotely after a hard days work..I'd rather sleep in a tent

Have stayed here ongoing for a few months during the week and feel that the staff/management failed to acknowledge me as a regular costumer, we had a company rate with the hotel and on one occasion they charged me full price (extra £5 per night) due to a mix up in booking where I failed to book in time, there was enough free rooms Although you realise it is a business there is a way to conduct yourself in the service industry,
Also given one free pint at the hotel bar to shut me up when the room they gave me had no electricity to charge my phone. Charged phone in hallway over night.
wifi signal poor and food over priced.
Never bother with breakfast, it's poor quAlity and ridiculously slow serving
