“Relaxing Break”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2014 via mobile

Hassle free arrival no booking in which I think was a nice touch to just head to your lodge.
I found lodge 15 very dated and really think it could do with updating
It was clean but under the sink cupboards smelt of foist.
The hot tub was not at the right temperature the first night but the maintenance guy said he switched it on and off and should be ok for that evening!
The water was also a bit of a drama having to run the bath fast then slow to get it hot and the shower ran off the bath taps which was problematic with the temperature of the water.
I feel it would have been nice to have a little map left in your lodge to help with walks etc.
We needed extra bedding and can't fault the staff they brought it very quickly and even offered to re make the bed.
The Hoover also didn't work which really we should have reported.
I think it's a nice place to relax or even better to have days out from.
Previous weekend we had a break at Keldy Forest so maybe we had been spoilt there and it stopped us from fully appreciating YellowTop.

Hi there,

Thank you for your review and comments regarding the lodge you stayed in.

I'm pleased to hear that our staff were able to help with any issues you had promptly. And these issues didn't spoil your overall stay. I hope it won't put you off coming back in the future.

The map ideas for walks is a great idea! We have an information kiosk on site for things to do in the area. It may be something we can include!

Thanks,
Lindsay

We spent three nights here and absolutely loved it. Will definately be going back again in the Summer. Hot tub was my favourite :-) Also the White Swan pub just down the road was nice for something to eat.

Yellowtop has detached lodges, with private parking and some have a private hot tub. Location is 20 minutes from a Park and Ride to the centre of York. A fantastic location. Close enough to the busy life but nice to get away to a tranquil setting.

Lodges are so spacious and spotless. Heating and lit on arrival. TIP - In cabin 14 the door keys are on the heating fob. To take the door key with you, you have to turn the heating off to get the heating key out of the lock. This was a mistake as we didn't realise this until we came back later that day and the cabin was cold and took a while to heat up once we put the key back in. Tip, take the door key off the fob and leave the heating key in it's lock.

Hot tub was lovely to unwind in especially on a cold evening. I went with my sister for a relaxing break and we spent more time in the Lodge than intended as we loved it so much. Great TV and DVD player.

You were left well alone unless you needed help.

Stayed here in early December for 3 nights. Cost £285 which I think was well worth the money.

Highly recommended.

Kp is brilliant so we have high expectations off lodges !! This place was up there great lodges and nice helpfull staff floating about .. Only downside was the hot tub area could be better but that's really minor we all had a great time and will be back next year ...hungs chinese was also very good from the nearest village !!

Wow what a lovely tranquil place to stay.
We stayed in lodge 10.
There were 4 of us, which was the perfect amount, the cabin was neither too small or too big.

On arrival the keys were inside waiting for us, as well as the heating and lights switched on. What a lovely touch!

The hot tub was ready to use and was just fantastic. It was the other side of the lodge, out of view in a private garden, I therefore didn't feel overlooked and comfortable about being in about ten o'clock not disputing anyone!

The bedrooms were clean, comfy and so warm.
The kitchen was well equipped and perfect for a night in.
The lounge was snugly modern and made me feel right at home.

We went for a wonder around the park, it's set in a lovely setting with lakes , wildlife and trees.

I would love to come back in the summer, if it's this fabulous in the middle of winter then I can only imagine how amazing it is in summer!
Thank you for having us and looking after such a beautiful park.

Upon arrival we entered the lodge to find the heating and lighting all on ready for us, it was warm, cosy and inviting. A very nice touch instead of walking into a cold dark room.

Everything you could need is contained within the lodge, all the kitchen utensils we needed were there, as well as plenty of plates, cups etc. Layout of lodges was very nice, all rooms are large and bright with a lovely view of the lake. Bed was extremely comfortable.

Fishing is charged at £5 per day or £10 for the entire stay, my partner spent a day fishing and managed to catch a couple of small carp so he was quite pleased.

The hot tub was amazing and very relaxing. It was lovely to just sit back and enjoy a glass of wine looking at the stars :) we didnt want to get out and could have easily brought it home with us!

The man who deals with maintenance is always about during the day if you have any problems. Our car battery died whilst we were there and he went out of his way to help us get the car started which was very much appreciated (although we didnt want to leave!)

Overall we were very impressed with the lodges, the surroundings, the hot tub, the relaxation. We are already looking at coming back next year! Thank you
