This is possibly the best pub in the entire world.
Having lived to the ripe old age of 87 and having a lifelong drinking disorder i have been in many drinking establishments across the globe and can ensure you this experience takes some beating.
There is a room full of James Bond memorabilia .This is due to the author Ian Fleming, who once lived in St Margarets
007 frequently visited the pub in many of his novels. playing pool and table tennis whilst drinking Vodka Martinis no doubt.
The staff are welcoming and the locals are a very friend bunch.
I did not get a chance to dine as i was very intoxicated. But the crisps looked splendid.
Will defiantly be returning to this hidden jewel in deepest Kent.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post your review of the Red Lion, especially as you have posted a review previously; which was also extremely negative and begs the question as to why you were even considering our pub for a birthday party.

That said, we have looked in to your complaints. As it happened, our Business Development Manager was at the pub last Friday and he has assured me that everything was as it should be, and that is of a high standard; especially the kitchen side of things (our BDM is a former award winning pub chef).

CAMRA has recently invited us to join LocAle, which is a reflection of not only the high quality of our beer but also of our overall service. CAMRA would simply not tolerate dirty glasses - and nor do we.

And of course, Johnny Depp and James Corden recently spent several hours in the Red Lion, enjoying our beer and our hospitality. One might imagine that they expect only the very best; and they were both very complimentary.

After being stuck at the White Cliff Hotel and appalling service (or rather lack of) we tried the Red Lion for some change of scenery. Yes, there is the James Bond sign and numerous photographs, a yellow kid's car, signed photos of Mr Fleming but overall it is just a local English tiny pub - BUT it is a local pub for local people and they were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We had a good giggle and the staff and locals definitely made our stay a lot more pleasant!

Popped in here a few times last week whilst holidaying in St Margarets. Although did not eat, had very good red wine and made to feel welcome. Also very dog friendly.
