Description: A luxurious menu of modern British cuisine has made the restaurant within the ancient manor house hotel of Wallett's Court in Dover a sumptuous destination in its own right. Robust, inventive flavouring abounds, with accomplished and gutsy cooking producing dishes such as confit of sea bass with sticky port shallots and caramelised noisette potatoes or breast of Gressingham duck with ginger and spring onion rösti. There is a predominantly French wine list, with Sunday lunch and party menu options.

“Very average expensive Christmas Dinner”
Reviewed 28 December 2013 via mobile

We went here for Christmas Day dinner. Firstly we were told that sit down was at 12 o'clock, having arrived at 12 we then didn't get sat down until 13.20. Most of the dinner was good it was the turkey dinner that let it down, dry turkey, pale non roasted parsnips, potatoes were non-crispy. The cheese board was supposed to come with chutney and it didn't, the Stilton was supposed to be with damson which it wasn't!
Staff were great although they need to learn how to do an itemised bill, the bar bill was given to us with just the total on which nowadays is unacceptable.
Won't be back next year.

“Awful Christmas lunch”
Reviewed 25 December 2013

Just paid top rate to have Christmas lunch here with the family. Frankly it was awful. It took nearly 31/2 hrs to serve it. It seemed like the chef had had the day off and plated up the main dish the day before (actually had a better meal at Weatherspoons 2days before) Finally capped with cheese and biscuits consisting of ONE biscuit each!!! Would not recommend it to anyone and will not be returning.

Ps one of the stars was for the view of the quaint church outside

“Lovely location and great food”
Reviewed 8 December 2013

Recent dinner at the restaurant was very pleasurable.Welcoming and friendly staff.Comfortable bar with interesting objects for decoration and selling locally brewed beers a bonus. Restaurant not full but plenty of space around tables. Not a massive menu-probably about 5 starters,5 mains, and 5 deserts but what they do cook they do exceedingly well. Attractively presented, delicious and reasonable size portions made for a very enjoyable experience. Not cheap but overall a very pleasant evening and will return.

“Overpriced still shocked!!”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

Dreary day decided to venture out and landed at Walletts Court for lunch. Beautiful surroundings , but as we were the only diners, no atmosphere inspite of the staff trying to create some. Food was excellent, lamb was delicious. Only draw back was the price of the drinks! I have never asked how much a glass of wine is in all of my years of dining but at Walletts you need to .Even the non alcoholic lager was expensive .May give this place another visit ,perhaps !!

“Nice place. Restaurant in November 2013 overpriced. Over cheffed!”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

Walletts Court ambience is very, very pleasant. Service from staff was excellent. The menu choice in November 2013 was very restricted. Only 5 or so choices for each stage. 2 courses at £35 was way excessive. Left feeling hungry and unhappy.
