Description: A luxurious menu of modern British cuisine has made the restaurant within the ancient manor house hotel of Wallett's Court in Dover a sumptuous destination in its own right. Robust, inventive flavouring abounds, with accomplished and gutsy cooking producing dishes such as confit of sea bass with sticky port shallots and caramelised noisette potatoes or breast of Gressingham duck with ginger and spring onion rösti. There is a predominantly French wine list, with Sunday lunch and party menu options.

“Beautiful. ”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 via mobile

Came here on a week night, had salmon for starters, which was cooked beautifully and complimented perfectly by the elderflower jelly. Then had beef Wellington for mains, I've never had beef Wellington quite like it, best ever, cooked to perfection.
Highly recommended. Will be back.

“Fantastic Weekender”
Reviewed 16 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed here in June for my birthday weekend away courtesy of my fiancé. We chose to go for the Saddle Hut and would highly recommend it. Although it's near the car park we still found it private, quiet and comfortable. We both had massages which were excellent and all the staff were friendly. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening and thought the food and service was very good.
Our only comment would be that the pool area could do with a freshen up although it was clean.

“Great for a weekend break”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

A party of 8 of us enjoyed the hospitality and facilities at Wallets's court at the weekend and the package included beauty treatments for the ladies and clay pigeon shooting for the men. Despite the fact that a wedding reception was taking place on the Saturday, all of the staff were attentive, helpful and more than willing to assist with any requests throughout our short stay.
Accommodation
My wife and I were staying in the outbuilding across the courtyard which was fine, but two of our party, James and Carol were placed in the large room above the swimming pool and the residence was massive, including a suite, large bathroom and facilities which were quite palatial.
Dining
The food in the restaurant was very good, with attentive service and a very nice menu, consisting of local and fresh produce.
A special mention to the staff, particularly Bernie, Kelly and Sue who were fantastic and also to Pete, for explaining and showing us the way on the clay pigeon shooting, which was a great giggle and resulted in a fantastic experience which took place for a couple of hours on the Saturday. A great choice for a break and really well situated for St. Margaret's Bay.

“Gorgeous massage!!! ”
Reviewed 1 July 2014 via mobile

I cannot fault the treatments available here I had a very relaxing crystal massage. The treatments are done in little rooms that look out across fields it's beautiful. The spa was lovely & includes a medium sized pool, jacuzzi, sauna & steam room. A major downside to the facilities is the changing area...unfortunately no cubicle to get changed in there's just a communal bench..there is also only 1 shower with a shower curtain. I'm not keen on getting my bod out in front of ppl so it was off putting unfortunately.

The gardens are lovely! & incorporate some meadow grasses & footpaths. You can stay in boutique style caravans or tepees (excuse spelling!?) they look great!!!! But you only have the spa shower & toilets which again is fine if you don't mind getting changed around other ppl.

Had lunch there which was lovely very tasty! But small not suitable for the average man haha. Overall we had a great time & despite my shower issues I would still recommend! :)

“Meal for two”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

After several months of nothing but work, work, work and a bereavement in the family thought it would be a nice treat for my wife and I to return to this restaurant after an absence of several years...glad that we did as certainly worth the wait. The staff were fantastic, especially the rather lovely restaurant manageress, who had a lovely personality to match.
The food, as on previous visits, was outstanding...not a salt and pepper pot to be seen anywhere on the premises as the Chef had seasoned everything to perfection! Not the cheapest place in the area by a long shot but at an average cost of £50 a head for a 3 course meal (wine and drinks extra of course) not bad! Highly recommended and wont wait so long to return this time.
