What an amazing place!!

We stayed 1 night but it wasnt enough both for Mid-Wales, and the place. our reception was warm and friendly, both from Alison and the two lovely dogs!
our room was beautiful and the bed extremely comfortable. just what you need after walking the Welsh hills!!
the setting of this wonderful B& B is just awesome.. tucked away in the countryside along a small track you would never know it was there! the gardens are beautiful and very relaxing with a picture perfect lake and trees!
Alison was delightful and friendly and made us and our dog feel very welcome. the dog loved it almost as much as we did!
Both Dave and Alison were very helpful with their hints and tips for the area- i would definitely go to the Break thy neck falls again.. so thanks for the ssuggestion!
the little touches of home-reared bacon sausages and eggs and home made cake make this the practically perfect place to stay as a guest of Mary Poppins!!

This review is a little belated as we stayed here towards the end of May for a week. What a beautiful, idyllic, picturesque place to be and an absolute gem of a place to stay. All the comforts of home, very clean, and lovely home-made cake or biscuits in a tin each time we returned to our room after a day out from walking and sightseeing. Alison is a wonderful, welcoming host, and one evening, as we were weary, we decided to stay in and sample one of her delicious meals, which was far better than that which we could have had at the local pubs, and sitting in front of the log burner just relaxing was such a treat! Breakfast was hearty and divine, with a variety of things to choose from before the full English arrived! There were a lot of people coming and going, mainly staying in the bunkhouse, but the ones we met at the breakfast table were likeminded folk. The whole area and atmosphere afforded us an opulent, visual luxury which could not have been bettered in that region. All our needs were catered for and Alison was very helpful and pointed us in the right directions for places to visit, etc. The local Kite feeding centre at Gigrin Farm was a fantastic place to go and watch the wild birds circling to come in and feed, as well as the harmony and tranquility of the Elan Valley reservoirs. We had the room with the kingsize bed (along beautiful views), and it was magic to hear nothing other than the early morning birds. As another traveller has mentioned, the en-suite was quite small but functional. All in all, a faultless stay, and we will certainly be going back there as soon as time dictates. Amanda and Stuart.

Booked very last minute as our second night after going to the Spring Fair, the place we stayed on Friday was booked up on the Saturday. So glad we found this place because it is am sure somewhere we will use again for the Spring Fair or other reasons and will definitely recommend it to others.
A lovely welcome even though we arrived late (after a get together of Highland cow breeders at the fair) - there was a lovely warm fire to sit by and we were allowed to drink wine we had brought with us to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
Slept really really well in a very comfortable bed and a lovely room. Great to have a shower after there had been no water at the place we stayed the night before! (another story!)
Lovely breakfast too - with sausage & bacon from Alison's pigs & eggs from her hens. Great to walk round the garden this morning before leaving too and seeing the lambs, hens, pigs and new baby ducklings :) We are smallholders too so had a lovely piggy chat :)
Thanks Alison :)

I stayed for one night and wished it was more. Beautiful and tranquil setting, warm welcome, beautiful room with thoughtful touches I.e home made cake in the room, bottle of chilled water in the fridge and Earl Grey tea! Fell in love with Kaz and Alfie the two dogs and met the chickens and piglets!

Very comfortable bed, delicious breakfast.

This was a absolute find and so reasonable.

Once you have stayed once, you will return.

Thank you Alison.

We stayed here for a couple of nights as we both feel fed up with paying exorbitant amounts of money to stay in hotels and continually be disappointed.

Alison made you feel very welcome, we did not meet David unfortunately, but the house is an absolute gem of a find.
Our room (the large double) had the most stunning views, immaculately clean, and a bed that really is the most comfortable one (apart from your own) I have ever slept in, with big pillows you just dissolved into, crisp white bedding, for once I knew I had booked the right place. A lovely tea tray with fresh homemade cake every afternoon was left in the room, a fridge with water from their spring and somewhere to keep your milk chilled - every small detail had been thought about with great care and pride.
We had paid for dinner on the first evening, delicious - a hearty pork chop, from their own farm, with beautiful fresh homegrown vegetables and a rhubarb and ginger sponge, just what we needed on a cold, wet evening. We snuggled by the log burner and enjoyed having time to relax in our very own lounge!
Alison was very discreet and you felt very at ease.
We slept very, very well and what a delight to wake up to the dawn chorus and those views. We enjoyed our hearty breakfast, and a fabulous choice, everything from natural yoghurt, blueberries, strawberries, cereals, juice, full English (again with the best bacon and sausages) and felt ready to enjoy the day ahead exploring the beautiful surroundings and everything Rhayader and The Elan Valley has on offer.
The only thing is the en-suite was very 'compact' but I would not want this to detract from my review as your not there to spend time in the bathroom!
So if your thinking of traveling this way, be sure to book Beili Neuadd, I'm sure you wont be disappointed, and if your like me, you will be glad to stay somewhere and think it was definitely worth the modest price.

A group of knitters descended on Beili Neuadd and filled the bunkhouse with wool and spinning wheels... We really enjoyed our weekend and this was a great place to stay: comfy beds, good cooking facilities and lovely scenery. We also appreciated the arrow slits, the sheep bleating outside the windows, and the massive kitchen table (which was piled high with our Wonderwool purchases on the Saturday night).

If you put a wish list together for the ideal B&B this one would tick nearly all the boxes. Picturesque location, very well presented, helpful hosts and good food. Not on the traditional tourist trail but all the better for it. Alison is an unfailingly helpful and friendly person. Breakfast in the bay window with snow on the mountains was excellent. Ridiculously good value too!
