As visitors to the area, we saw the menu outside and decided to call in for an evening meal. We were so pleased that we did as the food of sausage and mash and lasagna was excellent. The food was piping hot and the staff came to ask if everything was alright afterwards. The creamy mash was smooth, and seasonal vegetables were not over cooked. A meal we thouroughly enjoyed and would be happy to call in again if in the area.

We stay eat and drink here 2-3 times per year and can’t can’t wait to get back here.

We came here on a Friday night. It was steak nigh and the steak was lovely and thick. Cooked just right and very good value. The staff were polite and welcoming nothing was too much trouble. We will be back.

I have stayed here a couple of times while working in the area.
Rooms are clean and have good tea/coffee making facilities. Although the decor is a little dated this is probably the cheapest and best value hotel option in Rhayader.
Beds are very comfortable.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
The evening meal was great. Varied food selection and good quality when served. They serve a lovely pint too!
I will definitely use again and recommend to my clients.

We stayed one night in the Lamb & Flag which was situated directly opposite the Crown Inn (and owned by the same couple!) What a lovely cosy, quaint little Pub! Low original beams, little eating areas hidden away and a large open fire place faced with traditional leather armchairs. The staff were super friendly, and very very efficient. We hadn’t booked a table but were shown to a nice separate dining area at the back of the Pub. (You order and pay for their meals at the bar) We had the Steak Pie and Leek/Sausages with mash! Absolutely gorgeous food! The beef in the Steak Pie melted in the mouth, and the Sausages were tasty, as was the gravy, mash etc delicious! Full, we retired to the bar area and sat for the rest of the evening soaking up the atmosphere, we both had a lovely chilled evening. Well done guys! Top notch food a great little pub!
