Fantastic little restaurant, superb food and service, well worth a visit. It's very small so it's worth making a reservation. Definitely the bast eat in Indian in Hitchin since the Raj Douth changed hands.

We used to regularly order takeway meals from here, until it just became too much of a drag. You'd call to order and be told there was no delivery service tonight, or that It would be over an hour as the manager was on his own so couldn’t leave the restaurant.
The food was always ok and reasonable value (even if you did have to go and get it yourself in the end).

Last week a group of us were in the area and decided to try eating-in rather than a takeaway.
The first thing that struck us was the overwhelming smell of onions. I appreciate that the aromas in a restaurant are all part of the experience but this was REALLY strong smelling.

The food was passable but not a patch on other local restaurants. The naan breads in particular were disappointing, served pre-chopped into pizza style slices with a lack of fillings in the peshawari/keema making them feel low quality or even recycled!

The bill was the same "going rate" of £25ish pp that our group regularly pays for local curry meals, but we all felt it fell short of the competition.
To cap it all off, all six people in our group reported that their clothes/hair/cars stank of onions for the following day. I can only imagine that the kitchens extractor fan was broken as we smelt like we'd spent the night cooking Indian food in a sealed kitchen ourselves!

Not bad, but not that good either – just average.

Tiny but excellent restaurant. If it's a curry in Hitchin this always delivers.

We used to eat here regularly in 2004-5, and on returning to Hitchin last year went back hopefully. It always used to be a decent little place, nothing fancy but a decent local, but the standard of cooking has deteriorated. The lamb kebab wasn't properly cooked through, the other dishes were dull and same-y, and the vege selection is dire (melted cheddar cheese is not paneer!!). It's sad cos the service is friendly, but the food's just sub-standard. We won't be back.
