Visited here late afternoon when it was less busy... we were given bags and scissors so we could pick our lavender. There was an awful lot of bees - as expected ... It is lavender after all! They weren't a problem for us though.
We took our own picnic along with several other familys. Lots of excellent photo opportunities. Would definitely go back again.

“Lovely day out”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Visited here last week and it was beautiful. We spent ages taking photos and of course collecting lavender. Think it's a great and unique idea that for £4 each you can cut your own lavender and fill a bag to take home (my house now smells divine). Children are free, which is always a bonus and they also enjoyed helping us collect the lavender. One thing - as mentioned below - is be warned about the bees as our 4 year old got stung in the foot as a bee flew into his sandal. However the staff were so helpful and immediately made sure the sting was out, applied ointment and even gave him a free ice-cream, and once the tears had subsided he was back out in the lavender fields collecting with us again. My advice is do not wear sandals (they said this was the commonest cause of stings).

“Very good ...could be excellent”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

Great location
Great value
Great tea

But.... Why do you do have to queue in the tea and cake line to buy tickets for the "gardens"
So much easier to have a separate gate for payment... Also was not given a bag for lavender and was told by parking guy that they were at the fields ...not the case+ have more on the tills
That said overall good

“Beautiful but beware the bees”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

A friend and I visited here and found it to be a very beautiful location, plenty of photos were taken! We got given a bag as well so we could pick our own bags of lavender. Unfortunately there were a hell of a lot of bees around, the place literally buzzes and we overheard many people saying they'd been stung. As a consequence I was a bit too scared to walk among the lavender and just stuck to walking around it.
