Sorry this review is long overdue. We had our wedding here in August and absolutely everything was perfect which was down to the fantastic planning by Charlotte. Charlotte is absolutely fantastic, she dealt with all our worries calmly and responded to our emails promptly. On the day Charlotte coordinated everything perfectly. The food served at the wedding breakfast was delicious and better than the tasting session which was good in itself. I have had so many people compliment us on the wedding venue and how smoothly the day went. Later in the day Martin and Tom took over and they were always on hand to deal with any issues we had. We had a very comfortable room and breakfast the next day was top class the only problem being that with 2 weddings the seating was an issue and some families couldn't sit together. Overall a fabulous venue for a wedding where everyone went out of their way to make you feel special.

The hotel is in a brilliant location, very close to Hitchin town so it was easy to get the the restaurant and bars.
The hotel is very comfortable and clean. The staff were more than helpful, friendly and professional. The manager Stephen went beyond the call of duty in helping my friend. Her too had dropped in a puddle and she needed to wear it, he dried it and brought it back to her in time for us to go out. Thank you

Room tip: Quieter in the annex, but the party that was on stopped at 12 midnight so it was not a problem for us

I'd agree with a lot of the previous reviews that the hotel is a little tired, and does need some money spent on it. There's a lot of potential here, but there are better hotels in the area. It's location is very convenient though.

This is a fantastic venue for a wedding. We had our wedding here on 26 November 2016 and it was perfect. We had so many compliments on the venue – it is beautiful and classic just what we were looking for a winter wedding. Charlotte the wedding coordinator is fantastic – nothing is too much trouble for her. In the months running up to the wedding I was emailing her with a lot of random questions and she always replied in a timely manner and so kindly. The venue set up all my decorations perfectly and in the evening Martin the manager was great dealing with any query that we had and making sure the rest of the day went smoothly.

Some of the rooms have been refurbished which are of course the nicer rooms and the older rooms are a little dated but not one guest made issue with this and it didn’t detract from the venue as a whole. Breakfast was great – one day it was cooked to order the next day was a buffet both lovely.

I would highly recommend this as a wedding venue we had an amazing day and can’t fault it.

We stayed here as a wedding guest. The venue it self is lovely. The rooms where just the right size and was away from the venue which is nice if you wanted to go to bed early and not be kept up. Breakfast the next morning was tasty. I was offered gluten free toast to go with my breakfast which was nice. There was plenty to choose from at the buffet. Fry up food, cereals, fruit and yogurt and fresh juice or tea and coffee was available too. Very nice stay I would definitely stay here again.
