Description: This cosy pub in the lush Warwickshire countryside feels like a home away from home. With hand crafted furniture, an array of truly eclectic bric a brac and Oriental rugs, the dining room at The Royal Arms is a popular place for lazy Sunday roasts and parties. The hotel pub also boasts stunning original oak beams and log fireplaces and serves an excellent selection of real ales and wines, making it the perfect place for relaxed pre/post dinner drinks. Favourite dishes at The Royal Arms restaurant include the tempura vegetable salad with sweet chilli dressing and cauliflower pure; the duck breast served with julienne vegetables, sesame oil and plum sauce; and the home made steak and ale pie.

Four of us ate here on a Saturday evening using our Gourmet discount card. When we called to book on the day we were told that they were not taking many bookings as there was a large party. When we arrived the restaurant was empty and we were the only diners, later 4 other couples arrived at different intervals this meant there was not much of an atmosphere. There was a marquee in the grounds so maybe that wad the large party referred to. On their website the tables are laid with white cloths which make it look very "restauranty" and nice, but there were no cloths when we went. The menu is not extensive only a few choices but no complaints with what we ordered. Our waitress was lovely, but when questioned about things on the menu, she was vague and read it over our shoulder and said I think, rather than going to find out. However I was impressed that when we ordered more drinks she remembered or the barman did how we had them, mine coke lemon no ice and my friend 1 peice of ice. Small thing I know but nice all the same.
The meals do not come with veg so need to be ordered separately. My chicken dish stated 'greens
' when it came it was like a salad leaf garnish so glad ordered the carrot/beans as extra. 2 of us
shared the portion and it was more than enough for us both.
Will probably try it again, hopefully be a little busier next time. Priced quite high but all cooked fresh not pinged in micro, the card we used saved us 25% which was a bonus.

Thank tgxx

I met friends for lunch in the week and as I had heard good reports of Sunday Lunch thought I would give it a try. I was not disappointed.
The staff were friendly and attentive, there when we needed them and not when we didn't. Our meal was leisurely and we were made to feel welcome.
The food was delicious, beautifully presented, very tasty and a good portion size. Excellent value for money
Thoroughly enjoyable and will be back to try Sunday lunch in the near future

Came for a wedding reception and was impressed by the place. Very well thought out venue with good sized bar area and a massive reception marquee. Hot food buffet was excellent, lots of polite and friendly staff to clear plates, glasses etc so the tables always looked clean. Only small gripe was that drinks prices from the bar seemed more akin to city centre venues rather than village pub prices. Picked up a flyer for hotel and restaurant and will definitely be back....

met friends here for lunch, arrived early ,12 noon it was very quiet, plenty of room at the bar table we chose. Food was very good , well presented and tasty . portions a good size , by that I mean not over large. drinks from the bar. We felt it needed the heating on . It was chilly. Yes I know its June but the weather was very very wet - just an electric heater in the corner would have taken the chill off.

Myself and 3 other couples stayed here so i have reviewed the hotel seperately. The Royal Arms oozes plenty of charachter and has all the aspects of a cozy and comfortable country inn. food was great quality A La Carte cuisine and slightly pricey but inevitable. Good selection for all tastes. Scallops and Venison was perfect. Excellent selection of cocktails. Staff were exceptional, polite and professionally dressed (this is a big deal for me) although yes, most are foreign , i am used to this living in a big city so i won't racially pick at this as some reviewers have been. We were all well looked after til 1am. Very nice restaurant with great atmosphere. Highly Recommended
