Took my son's and mother out for Sunday lunch we had reserved a table weeks ago. Was disappointed as restaurant was empty and we were put on a tresel table. Carvery was very disappointing the food was warm and had no flavour to any of it at all . Dessert was very nice. Maybe we were just unlucky

I am ever so sorry to hear that you had a disappointing visit. We usually get rave reviews about our carvery so I apologize that it wasn't up to it's usual satisfactory standard when you came to dine with us.
If you are ever in the area I would love for you to give us another chance, and I will specially reverse a round table by the window for you so you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Sussex Countryside while you dine.

The staff make this hotel ,Unfailingly helpful and cheerful they stopped us leaving almost immediately and looking elsewhere,
Our twin room was the smallest we have ever stayed in .With one window and a tiny set of drawers inside a tiny wardrobe it quickly became claustrophobic. The fact that there is no lounge area in the hotel -unless you want to sit next to the check-in desk or next to the bar -meant we had to sit on our beds to read or relax.
Our bathroom was clean and warm.
Our booking form said "free breakfast" so we hadn't realised that it was only a continental variety .A good continental breakfast is an excellent start to a busy day ,but there was no choice of ham, cheese, eggs or pastries so it was very basic indeed. A croissant was available and was very fresh.
This hotel could be right for one ,possibly two nights .All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful .

I am happy to hear that they staff catered to your needs and looked after you well.
I do sympathize that the ground floor rooms are a little on the cosy side and I apologize that you didn't enjoy your stay. Room 6 has a beautiful view and is a very spacious room. If you were ever in the area and would like to stay again please call in advance and we will reserve room 6 for you.

We booked this based on other Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. Everything was spotlessly clean and the restaurant portions were substantial as well as being of excellent quality.
It makes a big difference when touring around by day to know that you can safely return for an excellent and reasonably priced meal of an evening.

We stayed for 2 nights on a weekend break. The Lodge is very good value for money. It is in a lovely quiet location with countryside views. The room was comfortable, very clean and well equipped. We ate there both nights and the food was lovely with a good choice. We chose a continental breakfast which was included in the room price but a cooked breakfast was available.
Everyone we met at the Lodge was friendly, helpful and efficient.
We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area

Stayed there due to working near by.

For the price I would say it's good value for money. I was in room 2 which was a good size. Good wifi.

Continental breakfast was included which was good.

Phone signal was a little hit and miss but that's it

Thank you for the review. You should try coming to this beautiful part of the country for leisure too. There is so much to offer, with many historical sites, family entertainment and culture, or just lovely walks. Hope to see you again.
