Belle Grove

Just returned from fab stay at Belle Grove Farm - Upper Barns. On arrival wine, chocolates, biscuits and flowers to greet us. Everything thought of to start a perfect holiday. Luxurious fixtures and fittings make this place feel special and it is.
Living/Dining/Kitchen - really well set up with utensils, implements and condiments to get you started. Lovely log fire to cosy up in front of. The most comprehensive information for a holiday home/local area I have ever come across.
Bedrooms - The bedlinens are beautiful - hotel quality. Beds comfy. Showers really are deluge proportions.
Did a lot of our own cooking so can't comment on local eateries but plenty of delis and tea shops to keep foodies happy.
As mid March a lot of touristy things don't come out of hibernation till April, however the highlights were the Wind Pump at Horsey and beach walk at Covehithe.

It's remarkable but delightful that you come all the way from Switzerland to find relaxation here in Suffolk! Thankyou for your continued support and we should be delighted to see all the family again next year.

We stayed in the coach house barn. It looked great on the website but that doesn't do it justice. The whole place was immaculate and beautifully decorated. You can tell that Jo and Nick have put a lot of thought and hard work into their place. Every tiny detail has been thought of. All the furnishings and appliances are all top quality. When we arrived there was even a pint of milk left for us in the fridge! There is a huge box full of information and maps about Suffolk and games ,dvd's etc. When we booked they sent us a great information pack covering everything right down to how to setup Skype on your PC to make phone calls because there is no landline. Who else would do that?
The barn is well insulated and has a very cosy feel. The bedrooms are very comfortable.
There is a nice local pub about 15 min walk if you don't fancy cooking but take a torch. This is by far the best place I have ever stayed in the UK and, for the price, an absolute bargain!

We stayed at the 'Gate House' and from the moment we walked into the room we fell in love with the place from the furnishings to the little extras that had been though of...everything was perfect!!
The whole cottage was immaculatly clean, very well equipped with everything you could ever require in the kitchen and lounge, there was literall nothing that had not been thought of and the Information provided both about the cottage and surrounding area was astonishing.
We only wish we could have stayed longer!!

I have stay twice at Belle Grove twice (Granary and Stable), the last in 1999 and neither experience disappointed me. Their excellent web site gives a good impression of what to expect, a quirky yet consistently thoughtfull little community of cottage apartments. Each has a theme and is decorated in a most creative ethic style. The workmanship which has gone into the construction is exemplary, there are no prefab fitted units, each apartment has been kitted out with bespoke hand built units of solid timber.

On arrival our welcome of a wine, fresh strawberries and chocolate waiting in the cottage with a welcome note allowed us to relax instantly. We enjoyed walks from our apartment out over the fields, visits to local sites of interest and a great barbeque using equipment available in each cottage.

I met the couple who run the complex and found them very warm and helpful. The only down side we had was the regular failure of the wireless network, but it is possible that this problem has since been solved. Mobile phone coverage was not good either, but that can be an advantage when on holiday! Disability access may be a problem for some, we had an elderly guest with us who was able to manage OK with stairs etc.

If you want a chance for romance or just to get away from it all you could do a lot worse than staying at Belle Vue.

We stayed 3 nights in the largest barn - Upper Barn - at the end of March as a small group of friends. Belle Grove is a wonderful place - quirky, full of personality, impeccable attention to detail and sumptuous decor and furnishings. Even the farm machinery graveyard provides an interesting landscape. Jo and Nick are building a truly eccentric house on the same property which is great to look at. We did not want for anything at Belle Grove and all we had to bring was ourselves, clothes, food and drink. Kitchen was fantastically well-supplied and kitted out. The rooms are a reasonable size and the living area is fantastic and cosy with lovely underfloor heating throughout. Unfortunately our dishwasher didn't work but Jo kindly let us use the one in the barn next door - Granary - as it was unoccupied at the time. My only gripe is that the mattress gave me a bit of a backache but this is not a deal-breaker. Thank you and well done Jo and Nick for developing such a fantastic self-catering property.

You must look at this place on its web site to believe it - it has been decorated with a Far Eastern theme which is spectacular. The attention to detail is fantastic, everywhere you look there are special little touches that add to the total atmosphere.
We stayed in the Coach House which was a two bedroom rental - the owners gave this to the two of us as the single room properties were full. As others have said, the place is cosy with underfloor heating and wood burning stove, even with snow on the ground. The beds are very comfortable, towels and bed-linens first class, bathrooms luxurious.
The owners have quite a few things that make this nice place a special one - biscuits, chocolates and a bottle of wine to greet you on arrival, and even a pint of milk in the fridge. Well organised information on all the local attractions.
If you want a special break, you won't be disappointed.
The Racehorse Inn in the local village (5 min drive) is a nice local pub - tasty food in an unpretentious environment.

Stayed for a 3 night break in "Stable" a one bedroom superb cottage. Very cosy. Wonderful finish and quality fittings - not often you get that in self catering accommodation. Also happy to accept dogs which is a bonus. Stunning rural location - would like to return to see it in the summer months.
