Great family pit stop in Morillon, easy to get to and ski from. Fantastic friendly service and deckchair winter seating outside with views of the Grand Massif

I have visited L'Igloo many, many, times, summer and winter, over the last 30 years. Sitting on their deck on a sunny day with a 'salad de l'igloo' and a carafe of wine is one of life's great pleasures!
I am not the only one to think so, so expect it to be very crowded, and service a little slow on a sunny day in the ski season. The cuisine is simple: including salads, charcuterie, omelettes and regional specialities. There is a plat du jour in high season. The strategy of simple food works well, and the quality is dependable. Prices are highish, but typical for mountain restaurants in the area. In the summer the restaurant can be reached by walkers and mountain bikers from Morillon, les Carroz, Samoens and Flaine. A lift from Morillon takes you right to the restaurant. Take the telecabine from les Carroz to reduce the walking time to about 1 hour 15 minutes.
I have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant it to others.
L'Igloo is also a refuge, though I have no experience of it.

This place is always popular especially on a sunny day both summer and winter. Expect to pay mountain prices, even so just along drink sitting in a deckchair looking out at the scenery is worth it. In th4e summer assessed by chair lift, if you don't want a long uphill walk.

Good service from a very hard working team of friendly waiting staff. Good food and always a great special on offer. Great terrace if the sun is shining.
