If you want tapas or something simple like pasta, chicken etc this is a good place to eat. Great view overlooking the beach, met does get busy late evenings and Spanish lunchtimes. A little English is spoken but never a problem and the staff are friendly.

We went here for lunch and tried the famous Garrucha gambas rojas and also got tempted by the chicken croquettes and the aubergine in honey (Malagan style).

The prawns were delicious and surpassed our expectations; the chef's special aubergines in honey (actually made from cane sugar molasses from Frigiliana) were to die for!

We have already pencilled in a return visit to El Cenachero on our next trip to Almeria as we enjoyed the food and service so much.

I stopped here for a drink whilst waiting for family members who were having a swim. They joined me afterwards. I was impressed with the service - everything, including a takeaway dish of water for the dog was served on a tray. However, in Vera Pueblo I am used to paying €2.60 for a coffee and cognac so to be charged €3 for the cognac and €1.50 for the coffee seemed excessive, as the cognac was the brand I normally drink. But the view was unbeatable and the menu looked reasonably priced.
