We stayed at Vera Beach Club in June 2011. The resort is clean, spacious, the staff are friendly and the resort is situated in a great location. The pools at the resort were clean, one of them offering good shaded areas under trees.
The resort is built is a Spanish style with plenty of shade and large paved areas outside the accommodation blocks which makes it good for socialising! The majority of guests were Spanish, then Brits followed by a few French, Italians and scandinavians.
The beach which is fantastic, is about 5 mins walk from the resort. Garucha town is a 15 minute easy and enjoyable stroll along the sea front and offers some excellent fish restaurants.. There are some good restaurants near the resort, be sure to spend an evening at Bar Dolar close by to the resort main gate. They have entertainment of different types most evenings, best way to describe it is that it has an English pub feel.
We flew to Almeira from Gatwick, the airport is a quiet, no usual squash of people. Hire a car for your holiday, the motorways are quiet and in good condition. They all looked pretty new!
If you are expecting bling, wild parties, drunken holidaymakers, then this is not the place for you! This is Spain at it should be, probably why the Spanish come here for their holidays!More
