“Brilliant apartments”
Reviewed 28 May 2012

Stayed here on a KGB deal and I would happily pay full price for these apartments!

Really spacious and FULLY equipped, it literally has everything you'd expect in an apartment you'd stay in full time. The complex it spotless, and well looked after. The pool that was open when we were there was lovely (if a little cold in March) and the staff were very attentive.

The main restaurant was a bit blah and lacked Spanish food but it served the purpose on the night we arrived!

The area is really untouched and 'real' Spain, apart from the odd English bar which is fine with me! We didn't need a car, we enjoyed walking around and the walk to Garrucha is lovely. ANything further we jumped on the very excellent buses which are cheap and just learn a little Spanish.

This was one of my favorite holidays thanks to great accommodation in a lovely area of Spain

It was just perfect, nothing more to say. The appartments was equiped very very well. A lot of space, good furniture, all the facilities you could need during stay. Even salt, sugar, water, coffee, tea and other small things were provided. The apartments have a really nice garden. In conclusion, the rooms was clean, spacious, well equipped, comfortable, the best value for money (49 euro for one night in two bedroom apartment with 80 square meters space) I will definitely recommend to stay here with family even for a long time. PERFECT!

Room Tip: Get the 80 square meters apartment - you do not regret!

My husband and I stayed at Vera Beach Club for a week in May 2012. We had bought a Deal Cloud Voucher for £89 but both felt our stay would have been more than worth the going rate for that time - around £250. True, the sun shone brightly every day and we had a great time on the beach and in the pool but, even if the weather had been less than perfect, we felt that the resort was fabulous value.

The 'pros' - a beautiful village type setting with excellent facilities: the apartments are well appointed with everything you could need for a self-catering break but also with the opportunity to eat out well where required. We took advantage of the 'welcome pack' for only 18 euros and found it great value for the money as it included a not bad bottle of wine as well as bread, milk, butter, eggs, bacon, cheese etc etc. We bought the rest of our goods at the Mercadona supermarket just outside Vera as recommended by other visitors and found this good advice. It was cheap, well appointed and easy to find.

We also benefitted from the advice to ask for a first floor flat. Thank you Trip Adviser reviewers - a good call. We had two balconies, one off the lounge and one off the bedroom where we could catch the sun both in the morning and the evening. The balconies are not huge but you can fit two chairs and a table on each - just.

We also appreciated the superb service provided by the Vera Beach staff. Our apartment was serviced (cleaned, fresh towels etc) every other day with the bedding changed mid week also. We had a minor emergency on the first morning when our toaster would not work and our microwave short circuited and burst into flames. We reported this straight away and were astounded to find that a new microwave and replacement toaster were fitted within three hours. I have not previously had that standard of service even when I have paid for it. Another plus was the company's 'policing' of the guests. I do not mean that in a bad way - quite the reverse. Everyone on the complex when we stayed was very nice, with lovely well behaved children but one evening a very noisy group of young people caused some disruption. We did not complain (although we thought of doing so) but someone obviously did, as the next morning the group were on their way and peace was resumed.

Downsides - the only one I can think of is their rather dodgy free WiFi. However, being warned of this, we availed ourselves of the excellent download facilities at La Colonial - a Spanish cafe nearby, slightly to the North of the complex. We even downloaded The Sunday Times superfast on our IPads.

All in all, our visit to Vera was one of the best breaks we have had and we will certainly return - even if we have to pay the full rate next time.

Good places to visit? The Friday market at Gurrucha is great and we heard good reports of the Saturday market at Vera also. The former can be accessed on foot and the latter by using the local bus which also passes through Mojacar. Buses travel hourly in both ways.

We had a car and our most memorable trip was to the Cabo de Gato - around an hour to the South. The memory of the pink flamingos basking on the salt marshes will stay with me forever - as will the memorable grilled fish feast at the beach side bar near the old Cabo de Gato citadel.

A truly wonderful stay and the best value holiday we have ever had. Thank you Vera Beach.

My partner and I bought a voucher to stay at the Vera bech club with the view of just getting away from it all. Before going I read over the reviews on trip advisor and found them all to be pretty accurate (give or take people's different preferences) so I had a jist of what to expect. I think it's fair to say that the resorts location may be too quiet for some but we found it nice and peaceful and this allowed us to completely unwind and relax for the week. The area did seem to be suffering a bit from the recession with a few places shut and scattered empty apartments dotting the roads, however it was April when we went and not the height of season. The resort had a lovely pool to lie by with plenty of loungers and a great pool bar that served nice food, which was so convenient!

We had a one bedroom apartment that was a good size for our needs. The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking and the dining table was laid out the day we arrived (which was a nice touch!) the maids came every other day and the apartment was kept very clean throughout the week. We hired a car for the whole week we stayed, which we collected at Murcia airport on arrival. I would advise this as we found ourselves getting out everyday to find restaurants and local towns to explore! There was plenty of parking near the resort and it felt very safe.

Our only disappointment was the quality of the food on the on site restaurant. It wasnt anything to write home about, but we only ate there one night and that was that. I wouldn't get half board at this resort. We visited the El mar la mar restaurante up the road in Villaricos which was a 10 minute drive away one evening, there was lovely food here and the menu was very good value for money. One place I would'nt go again was the Laguna pub down the road from the resort. We ate here one night and felt a bit cheated with the prices charged for very basic food.

Trip wise a drive down to Mojacar beach is definitely a must. There are lots of restaurants to choose from and its very pretty. We also went to Vera on market day (Saturday) and picked up a few souvenirs, the streets are bustling with traders and locals.

Overall we had a lovely holiday at the Vera beach club. We were in much need of stress free getaway and we were not dissapointed. As mentioned in previous reviews, it isn't for the partygoer, but if you want to get away from it all and just have a good rest this is a lovely place to go. Enjoy!

Spent a week in early March, drove from Murcia airport about an hour and a half away via new toll road. Very clean well equipped rooms. Amble space for 2, plus a balcony for the late afternoon sun. Nice layout. Excellent breakfast, help yourself.we eat at the resort most evenings which was good value but not gourmet meals, the service was good and friendly. Take advantage of the early bird drink, 2 for 1 offer before 6pm. Make sure you book a first floor apparat ment for a better view. If you want wifi you will need a room near reception, it's free in most common parts. We walked to Garrucha, about 30 minutes for a few drinks. Poped down to the beach most
days and enjoyed the sun. Nearby is the Dollar bar, run by an English couple, with free wifi, the code changes frequently.
The beach to the East of the complex, about 30-40 minutes walk is enjoyed by nudists with a couple of beach bars also for clothed and unclothed customers alike.
We enjoyed our stay and we were very lucky with the weather. We booked with Petchy Leisure, all went smoothly. We booked our car hire with Do you do Spain and the company was Goldcar, don't forget you pick up your car with a full tank ( an extra €70-€80) plus insurance and you return with an empty tank, but if you don't do the miles as we didn't you are likely to waste €40.

Stayed for a week after purchasing as a special deal onKGB Deals. Couldn't fault anything. The buffet breakfast if taken as an extra was superb value. Accommodation immaculate . Spacious airy and just perfect . Lovely outdoor pool area and if you hired a car to explore the area which I would recommend, then a great location. Only downside not many flights into America airport so Murcia or alicante which is a pain as over 2 hours drive !!

Room Tip: Room 33 was overlooking pool but this was a 2 bed
