We were lucky to be in Dachstein on a sunny day, moreover there was an Austrian bank holiday, so the price for the cable car was reduced by 25%, otherwise if you want to see it all, you have to pay over 41euros- i.e. for the cable car and the Ice Palace including the price of the suspension bridge. A good idea Austrians! Though it is a bit pricey, I think it is worth the money.Once you get off the cable car, there is a skywalk - a platform with breathtaking views of the mountains, some of them snowclad. A few steps away there is an entrance to the Ice Palace and the Suspension Bridge. The suspension bridge is an interesting experience, not so scary as you might think, so definitely try it. At the end of the bridge there are "steps into nothingness", again a special experience, though there are usually a lot of people who want to take a snap. Not so scary as advertised on the web but definitely a unique experience. Do not miss it. The Ice Palace was a bit disappointing for me, as the floor was very slippery, it was all ice on the floor with the exception of some scattered metal grids and as it was the end of the season, there were reparaition works going on. Definitely saw a more interesting Ice Palace in Switzerland. Maybe children would like it. All in all do not miss the Dachstein mountain top area, even if you do not want to go skiing.
