We had to cancel our stay due to a severe medical condition of one family member. This cancellation was WELL AHEAD of our intended stay and ONLY 2 days AFTER payment of the requested deposit.
No good will was shown from the hotel: first our request for at least partial refund was completely ignored: on the phone noboday was in charge to deal with the request - they promised to call back but never did. Upon writing our request, the hotel first ignored and then simply told us that we should have paid for an extra insurance in case of cancellation (consumer protection organizations advise against such kind of insurance, by the way).
In our particular situation, which we tried to explain to the hotel, such behaviour lacks completely of fairness and good will. This is not at all what I would expect from a place advertising with hospitality.More
