Some friends (Croatians living in France) advised us to go to Konoba Marinero, as they told us it is the best restaurant in town.
We had a booking for a well located table is this very nice restaurant, in the middle of greenery, overlooking Mlini Bay.
That the restaurant could be more expensive than most of the others in town is not really an issue, if what you get is in line with the price.
The first bad surprise was that they systematically charge the couvert. This is common practice in Italy, but this was the only restaurant where we saw it in Croatia, during the 2 weeks we spent in the country
The second was the size of the servings, inversely proportional to the price, compared to other restaurants I went in Mlini. Quantity doesn't mean quality, but in places were standards are comparable, I would expect similar servings. Unless they pretend... ?
The third bad surprise was some of the main courses. We chose (2 of us), to have the local speciality, a Buzara. It looked nice, but unfortunately it was too salty. The starters and other main courses were OK.
Service was overall rather good, but when we reported that the main course was too salty, the waiter simply excused it by the fact it was see food (mussels) and you had some sea water in the dish... if you never cook or even eat mussels, you could maybe buy it... else, it sounds rather ridiculous...
In a nutshell, I found the place too pricey for what you get. You don't just pay for the nice environment.

Very good restaurant, food and even better service. I had very good sea food and spaghetti.
The best view on the sea is from that restaurant. If you are visiting Mlini you need to go there and eat.

Excellent food, outstanding service, beautiful location. We ate in this restaurant 3 times in a week, and were not disappointed.
