“Very happy with my stay!”
Reviewed 16 January 2014

I was visiting the area while doing genealogical research/meeting distant relatives and this hotel was perfect. Since it was the end of August, this side of the island was pretty quite and the hotel was not full. It was a great place to relax after a long day and a great place to linger a little longer over breakfast. The hotel rooms were comfortable, the bathroom was a good size. The breakfast, which was included, offered a good selection of toast, really good english muffins, bagels, cereal selections, juices, tea, coffee, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. and you could either sit inside or outside both with lovely views of the water.

Interestingly the hotel provided white towels and grey towels; the grey towels are for cleaning up when you've been playing in the red sand for which the island is famous. I thought that was a nice touch.

The Dory Shop restaurant was good and appeared to be frequented by locals which is a good sign. It was also right on the water and had lovely views. Since it was fishing season when I was there, it was great to see the boats coming and going. When the website said it was a working fishing pier next to the hotel, they were not lying but I was pleased that it didn't have the smell I was worried it might. I definitely recommend this property.

Room Tip: I believe all rooms have views of the bay. Second floor rooms have balconies and first floor rooms h...

I stayed at Northport Pier Inn while biking the Confederation Trail, and enjoyed the waterfront location with a nice restaurant just down the boardwalk. The Inn appears to have been recently built or renovated - our room had tall ceilings, hardwood floors and a very large washroom. I really enjoyed my stay!

We had looked in vain for a cottage on the water and ended up with a room in this Inn instead. We stayed two nights. It was spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and chairs, nice decor, and a little patio a few feet from the water. There is a pretty breakfast room (breakfast is included in your rate) offering bagels, breads, cereals, yogurt, fruits and juices. The best part was taking our tea out on the patio overlooking the bay and watching boats coming and going in the morning sunshine. Great restaurant next door. There is a takeout a few feet away but I can't recommend the clams. All in all a beautiful, peaceful spot I'd love to visit again someday.

Room Tip: No elevator so if you have mobility issues, or a lot of luggage, choose the ground floor. We had Roo...

This inn had just reopened under new management, and the staff went out of their way to make our stay the best possible. Room faced a lighthouse, with fishing boats coming in and out. Right next to a large harbor with over 70 fishing boats: great many photo ops. Only negatives were the room had a few insects (probably due to the fact that we were the first to stay in it, after a winter closure), and their restaurant and gift shop were not yet open (and there are few good restaurant options close by).

Stayed one night. Could be a 4 star with a few upgrades. Tv too small tissue and TP could be better quality. Internet was down. Room overlooked water and had nice view. Room was clean and staff were nice. Simple breakfast. Bed was okay and overall stay was good. Had the best lobster dinner next door for 20.00 and delicious blueberry bread pudding ever was nice to have a few drinks on our balcony then walk to dinner. Good place to stay after going to North Cape.

Room Tip: 2nd floor corner room was nice and private.

Our softball team the Brantford Bobcats recently stayed at the Northport Pier while competing at the Canadian National Fastpitch Championships in August. All the staff went out of their way and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. And that they did! At times we forgot that we were there to play softball as we just ended up having so much fun! We now consider the staff friends and look forward to the opportunity to return the favour.

The views were stunning, the restaurant had some great food and the staff was very welcoming!

Room Tip: You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I stayed here for one night at the end of July. The inn is clean and well-kept. The staff was business-like; they didn't go out of their way to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was very basic. The bagels were kept in their original plastic bags. Fruit was in a plastic Tupperware-like bowl. Not what we expected.

Room Tip: All rooms have amazing views.
