Panlong is about 15-20 minute walk from the ferry terminal (without luggage). There was a mini-bus service that ran between the ferry terminal and the hotel so there’s no major issue here (The mini-bus should be there waiting to pick up guests upon arrival at the ferry terminal. You can tell them when you are leaving and they will organize the mini-bus to take you to the ferry terminal). Putuoshan has an internally run transport system (small buses) that ferries people around the island and unless you have hired private transport, you will have to use this service. The hotel is conveniently situated along one of the bus lines. There is not much to do in the evening in this Buddhist pilgrims/tourists island but there is a night market which is about 15-20 minute walk from the hotel.
The twin-sharing room we booked was surprisingly good considering the location and how much we paid. It was clean and comfortable enough. The bathroom outlay was not very practical though (the toilet is separated from the shower by a see-through glass frame) and the shower head could be better. There were mosquitoes around (I suppose you can’t avoid them given you are in the country-side) and we needed to use the mosquitoes repellent provided.
Our room was close to the reception and restaurant on the ground floor. We didn’t have a problem with the noise but I will suggest rooms on the higher floor to avoid the crowd.
