We stayed for 2 nights in June, 2006. We chose this hotel after reading TripAdvisor, but also because it is slightly off the main square and so likely to be quieter. We were also ready for a modern hotel after a series of charming but quirky colonial ones.
We were very pleased indeed.
We did not have reservations, but June is a quiet time and it was not a problem.
We always ask to view a few rooms before deciding, and we chose one not overlooking the pool, but rather, on the street (4th floor). They spontaneously offered us a discount - much appreciated.
Nice big room, bright, with a/c and 2 beds, well appointed, comfortable. Only possible complaint was the smell of cigarette smoke from the 2 adjoining rooms, seeping in during the evening.
Pleasant staff, lovely pool. And the nearby national park is not to be missed - it's truly transcendent.
A great location for exploring this interesting city (a working agricultural centre, a change from the colonial gems like Morelia). There were many nearby cheaper restaurants and excellent coffee shops to lure us out of the hotel, so we didn't eat there, but it looked very nice.
I'd go back.
