Im sitting here reading some of the reviews on here and don't understand how some people don't love this place. We have stayed here a number of times and it has always been great. Staff is always very nice Place is always spotless and rooms are vey comfortable and the prices are great. We made a bad mistake last year and didn't relize they close for the winter and had to stay down the road. What a mistake not very clean, cold I mean cold .Wasroom was discusting and toilet moved every time you used it. We would have left but was to tired and just had to to put up with it.Dream catcher Motel is the best. Love love this place

WE were a large group ( a tour) visiting Algonquin Park for the weekend, requiring several rooms for just one night, and the check-in process was slow. I shared a room at the front with another woman in our group and was a little disturbed to see that our bath tub was in the room with the 2 double/queen beds, while the toilet and sink were in a separate room. We worked around this obvious privacy issue, but I thought this was weird and was not expecting the room to be arranged this way. I get that its romantic to have a tub near the bed, but I'd expect that bed to be a single King size or heart-shaped? I think that a room that offers 2 beds, should have a more private tub/shower set up.
Aside from this, I found the room tastefully decorated, clean and very comfortable.
The building is close to the road, but traffic is light and can not be heard from inside the room with the windows closed. A porch runs the length of the building and chairs are available if you want to sit out side. In June the mosquitoes were fierce. Bring bug spray. Whitney is a small town with only a couple of places to get food and gas. If you need to get fuel for your vehicle, do it early... you might find places are closed if you wait.

Thank you for the review, Were sorry the check in process seemed slow. Sometimes when your part of a large group it can slow it down a bit but we always strive to check you in as fast as possible. We understand your concern with the shower facing into the room. Only 5 out of 16 units are like this and it was due to space requirements. Please feel free to request a room that is not like this next time, we would be happy to accommodate you. Thank you!

Very comfortable beds two Queen beds in our room, basic but alright, excellent breakfast in the adjoining house nearby, watch out for the self locking room doors, it caught out one of our party late one night, there is no live in staff, but a phone call to a member of staff who lived nearby sorted the problem after a short wait. On the road but perfect overnight accommodation. minutes from the Algonquin wildlife park.

Thanks for the great review, we were so glad to have you! We are planning to install new door locks very soon that will make it impossible to lock yourself out. We actually do have live in staff, however were a small business and are occasionally gone to get groceries or supplies or they may be a short period where there is no staff over night during a shift change. Were usually only gone for a few hours at most and it’s not extremely often (once a month).

Had a wonderful stay - the motel has the perfect location for visiting the Algonquin Park! Rooms were very clean and cosy (however be prepared that the big fridge makes some noise during the night) and the bed was very comfortable! The area was so quiet and peaceful that it felt really strange to be back in the city after our 3 nights stay.
Unfortunately the wifi connection broke down after 1 day, but the very friendly hosts did their best to fix the problem.

If we will ever return to Algonquin, it will be our first choice of stay again for sure!

Thank you for the awesome review, it was a pleasure to have you! We are working on upgrading all of the fridges to quiet ones. Currently there are only 2 remaining that would be as noisy as a full size fridge in your own home. In regards to the Wi-Fi, were very sorry that it broke down during your stay. We are located so far from the city it’s hard to get quick tech support. We will have that issue fixed for the start of the 2014 season and are looking into adding back up equipment that we can switch to if it were to happen again. Thank you!

My wife and I have stayed at the Dream Catcher since it's opening and can assure you it is a five star motel in everyway. The owners are very accomodating, friendly and work non stop to add new improvements to an already up to date establishment. All the convieniences are there, 42" flat screen T.V.'s, Wi-Fi, Refridgerators, Micro Waves, air conditioners, Coffee makers and supplies. The floors are a beautiful hardwood, the furniture is all to date and beds so comfortable. Full bathrooms compliment the units and screened doors allow for fresh air. The prices are very reasonable at this Motel and a great addition to the picturesque town of Whitney.

Room Tip: Pick a room at the front and enjoy the sun setting from the comfort of lounge chairs on the patio wa...

We only stayed for the one night here on our travels through Ontario but thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

The motel has an excellent location to Algonquin Park's east gate and despite only arriving at the motel at 3pm after travelling from Ottawa we could get to the park, go to the visitors' centre, walk around the trail at the logging museum, and walk both the Spruce Bog boardwalk and the Lookout trail.

Our room (number 6) was so clean and well maintained and had in it all we could need during our visit including a fridge freezer and microwave and a good supply of ground coffee, sugar, creamer, etc. With 2 double beds in the room, floor space is a bit limited but this didn't give us any problems.

We had eaten at Barry's Bay at lunch time and so only had to prepare a snack here which we ate sitting outside our door making use of the chairs and small table provided.

Room Tip: rooms 1-6 are on the front and so face highway 60 (busy during the day, quiet at night) - rooms 7-12...

We picked this place because it was brand new and right on the edge of Algonquin Provincial Park. Our room included a spa bath and fireplace. The room was of good size, only in the bathroom there was little extra space. We travelled with our 15 month old daughter, and had space enough to put her travel cot in the room. The bed was very good, maybe a bit to soft for us, but that's a personal opinion. Fridge and freezer are convenient when travelling around. Noise from neighbors can be heard, but it doesn't disturb in any way. The room was clean when we arrived. We used the ceiling fan at night, and temperature was perfect. Outside it was only 2°!
Recommended if you want easy access to Algonquin Park, keep in mind that Whitney is a very small village, and the shops close early.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back, so we didn't hear any traffic.
