“Good Location, Plenty of Space”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2014

Well located on the east side of the village, an easy walk to the restaurents and facilities. The units have enough space and are reasonably clean and well equipped. They are a little bit tired and in need of some modernisation though but OK for a night or two. Good heating is provided - a bonus when you come in wet and cold from the hills.

Room Tip: Sorry- no restaurant or swimming pool. I pressed the buttons by mistake and can't delete!

Fiona and husband have only been there 3 months and slowly taking over and making it their own.
It needs a fresh makeover, but this will take them time, Fiona's personality will win through, and her husband's baking - it's great!
Basic, but got everything you need.

Room Tip: Choose a three bed for a couple, gives a bit more space.

Very pleasant stay in cosy cabin. Woke to find ice on the car in the morning, in mid January.
All we needed in the cabin, helpful owners who pointed us in the right direction for a good meal in 'town'. Were told we would see Kea's near the car park but were disappointed. Rewarded the following morning just further up the pass, as we pulled off the road. There they were blocking our way!!! Wonderful opportunity to stay in such a beautiful location.

I spent the weekend here in November for our end of season trip. It was totally relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. The unit we had was clean comfortable and spacious. Pete and Fiona were excellent hosts. I would definitely recommend staying here it is a truly magic location.

We have stayed here previously and love the location of this place. The new owners are very friendly and the cabins clean, comfortable and well equipped. Fiona is knowledgable about the area and hikes and we'll definitely be back.

PS: return time to Avalanche Peak 3 hours 35 mins ;-)

Spent 1 night here, would definitely be back. Such a relaxing and beautiful spot. Simple cosy rooms with a nice feel. Excellent service. DVDs to choose from, which was a welcome touch on the rainy night we stayed there. Bed was very comfortable.
