Alpine Recreations Introductory Climbing Course is the perfect introduction to mountaineering for beginners. We spent 6 days at their privately owned 'Caroline Hut' in Mt Cook National Park. The hut overlooks the mighty Caroline Face of Mt Cook, a stunning sight as we set off each day into the mountains. The course was excellent, each day we learned new skills to enable us to travel safely in the mountains including roping skills, glacier travel, crevasse rescue and ice & rock climbing. The course culminated in an ascent of Turner Peak and with the help of our excellent Guide Wolfgang, we made a successful summit. After completing the Introductory Course, we immediately signed up for an Intermediate Course, which was equally fantastic. Would highly recommend Alpine Recreation if you are looking for adventure and fun with mountain professionals! Tracey & Chris
