Beautiful place. Very comfortable and clean. The room was nice and the kitchen facilities were great. The views are spectacular. I would recommend requesting a room upstairs so u can see the view without everyone from the car park being able to see in your room. Would definitely stay again.

Great location to experience all there is at Mount Cook.
The room was adequate - what we expected having researched and read reviews before we booked. Very basic, eg. a clothes rail rather than a wardrobe and room very small - barely room for your luggage.
However, it was clean and we had a room with a view (unfortunately we didn't see Mount Cook though due to the mist!).
Great walking and glacier tours.

This is a budget lodging at Mt Cook village. The rooms are very small, but are nice and clean. There are two stories, and has about 8 rooms on each floor. On the top floor there is a common area with spectacular views of Mt Cook. It also has a huge kitchen, a couple of fridges etc. So you can cook your own food here. There is also a computer, which has paid internet access.
The receptionist accidentally charged us for the front facing room, but we stayed in rooms with no views. We did not realise this but they brought this to our attention and paid us back. That was very honest. The girls are very helpful in giving you correct information about the weather, walks to be done, etc. We did the Mt Cook walk, which goes to the base of the mountain... it is well worth the effort.
We stayed here for 3 days, but next time we will be here for 6 I think :-)

We wanted to do lots of walking in the Mount Cook National Park so stayed two nights at Aoraki/Mount Cook Alpine Lodge and then two at The Hermitage. We had the self contained studio room with its own ground floor patio and great view of Mount Cook, but was a bit pricey but other rooms with not so great a view were much less. Hotel has a huge lounge with picture windows looking out onto Mount Cook and a communual kitchen so if you have brought provisions in you can cook, meet other guests over dinner and swap tales of what you have been up to and find out tips and recommendations on what to do. Don't skimp with your visit to Mount Cook, it's a walking haven if the weather is kind. We had four days of glorious autumn sunshine with unforgettable views.

The Aoraki Mt Cook Alpine Lodge was for me a perfect place to stay if you want some contact with other travellers but also have your privacy. If you're not after the extravagant luxery but a place with all you need and more.
