We spend a 6 night there .
The overall feedback is: exellent
Here we have a rare case of a hotel we would like to ad a STAR, Quality and Service is clear a 5*plus, congratulation and thank you.

Hotel:
Very nice, well maintenanced and and fooed is top. The hotel reflects the mountain country feeling you would expect.

Room:
We booked a Residence with 50sqm. Lovely room, we would love to have it at home. All materials used of very good quality especially we been pleasantly surprised by the bed stuff.

Wellness:
Large area . We only like to point out1 things; outdoor pool could have been a bit larger

Minus point: Connection to wirlesss in room is a must

This was our first stop for 4 nights on this summers Austrian trip. We have been to the Austrian Tyrol 5 of the last 6 summers. We were recommended to this hotel by our friend who is a waiter at the 5 star Relais and Chateaux that we always stay at in Neustift, in the Stubai Valley outside of Innsbruck. This waiter has also been my house guest here in LA the past 2 summers, so he knows what we like. The hotel was almost entirely booked when we emailed 4 months ahead so we ended up with smaller accommodations than we usually book. We had a 40m Wellness Residenzsuite. It was like a big junior suite with king sized canopy bed, a living area, large balcony and a nice bathroom with shower and a large tub. Like most Austrian hotels, the toilet was in a serepate closet. We had a view overlooking the hotelsbeautiful private swimming lake and the surrounding mountains. The suite was comfortable and most importantly quiet. The rate was 356 euros a night which included all meals as well as appetizer cake and coffee buffet on their terrace in the late afternoon. You are assigned your own table with your family name on it in one of their dining rooms called stuben for your entire stay. We loved our waitress. The food was good but not 5 star, hence the hotel's overall austrian rating of 4 stars. It was definitely geared to the european taste and even though we travel to austria so much we had a hard time at dinner some nights. The Austrians, Germans and Italians around us seemed to love it. I think if I would have asked for something else such a wienerschnitzel, they would have made it for me with no problem. We enjoyed drinking some nice austrian wines and having cocktails and beer in the bar each evening. The bartenders and manager in the bar area were very friendly and interested in talking to us. They had different entertainment in the bar each evening. We were surprised to find the busiest night to be fashion show night! The rate also included use of their most incredible 5 star 3,000 meter wellness area with had many different steam rooms, saunas, salt grotto's and by far the best waterbed relaxation rooms I have seen on all our trips to 5 star wellness resorts in Austria. I could have been happy lying all day on the rooftop waterbeds which had individual reading lights and blankets to wrap up in while reading a book or taking a nap or just checking out the incredible views out the windows!. They also had the most incredible wrought iron canopy hay beds with curtains. We definitely do not have anything like this anywhere in the US. It is definitely one of the reasons we love Austria so much. We were told by staff and some of their regular guests that they had not heard american english spoken there in a long time. We were invited back again next summer! This place is off the beaten path. The hotel picked us up at Munich airport for 175 euros and drove us 1 hour up thru the Tegnersee lake region over the German Austrian border to the Alpenrose...a beautiful drive. The hotel is above the Achensee Lake and the scenery is spectacular. You can easily walk downhill about 10 minutes to the lake or take the oldest cog steam railway there and back down into the Inn valley and the industrial town of Jensbach(nothing for the tourist in Jensbach) 30 mins outside of innsbruck. We did both. There are steamships that cruise the lake and make various stops at little villages. We got off after cruising the lake at Pertissau, checked out the little town, had an italian lunch and took the cable car to the top where we enjoyed a few hours hiking and drinking beer in the alpenhuts. Each day we looked forward to our return to the Alpenrose so we could enjoy their wellness areas. About 5 minutes walk from the hotel is the Rofan cable car. It was raining that day but we went up the mountain anyway. We enjoyed lunchand lots of beer at the Alm and when the rain cleared my husband bought ticket to "fly like superman" on the Air Rofan cable. We were the first to fly that day and I never would have gone had I watched others fly first, but I am so glad that I did! You are strapped into a special suit with a harness. You step onto a platform and they hook you face down, lying flat with your hands and feet on a bar to what looks like a hanglider on a cable. You then fly backward, feet first up to the very top of the mountain, hang out for about 20 seconds up top enjoying the view then come flying face first back to where you started. I have to admit I opened my eyes about 10 seconds into the ride and the view was spectacular. It was definitely something I want to do again and bring our boys to enjoy! When we checked out the manager came out to personally thank us for staying. We were given a bag of bottles water and loaves of bread . Overall we liked the Alpenrose and the village of Maurach. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We would recommend it to spa afficionados, people that love the outdoors, and families as they have great childrens facilities. We will be back in the future!
