We are a family with an 18month old. We stayed at the hotel scesaplana for 4 nights. wonderful facilities and the staff are very accommodating of all of your needs. The hotel couldn't have done anymore for us, they even washed our sons clothes for us after he hadn't been very well. Small touches like the offering of hotel buggies to take up the mountain allowed us to make the most of the entire day and allowed our son to nap and not interrupt his routine.
I recommend this hotel to all.

Room Tip: If you're a family I would ask for a large room as it was slightly too small to negotiate 3 of u...

A hint to some of the other reviewers: Don't book a family hotel, unless you can bear with little kids running around and making noise. And if you do, then please don't complain about it on trip advisor.

Anyways - we stayed over the weekend, with our two years old daughter, her two friends, and their parents. The staff was nice and friendly, hotel was clean and comfortable overall. The rooms had a slightly dated look and feel, but were certainly worth their price. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and equipped with everything a young family can wish for (cot, nappy bin, changing mat, bottle warmer, etc.). The valley is nice and there are ample opportunities for recreation outside.

These are my major points of criticism regarding the hotel service:

- Service was friendly, but really slow. In the morning, some (!) of the coffee finally arrived when we were done with breakfast - and we were eating for about an hour. The breakfast room was half empty, so no excuses there.

- In one of the rooms, the hair dryer was not working. Staff promised a replacement to our friends and told them that it would take approx. 15 minutes to organize one. After waiting for about 35 minutes, our friends went down to the Spa area instead.

- The breakfast itself was nice, but dinner was 'ok' at best. Given the overall high quality of food in Austria, I would certainly rate it below average and especially the range and quality of the desserts were disappointing.

- I also asked for lactose-free food upon arrival. The receptionist seemed a bit clueless but promised me to forward my request to the kitchen staff. It was never mentioned again, although I had expected to get at least a warning when there was cream in the soup, etc.

- There was no real lunch offered, but the hotel promised some snacks from 1pm to 3:30pm. First of all, for a family hotel, the timing seems a bit problematic to me: Our kids wake up at 6:30am and they are tired and hungry around 12 o'clock. So, we gave our daughter a few crackers and an apple, and put her to sleep until 2pm. Second, at that time, the snack buffet was already raided by the other hotel guests. We kindly asked the staff whether it would be possible to restock the buffet a bit (since it was supposed to last for another 1.5hrs) but they said 'no'. In the end, we ate the only thing left: a little bit of pasta leftovers that were already cooking on a warming plate for one hour or more.

- There is a swimming pool in the basement of the hotel and our daughter was looking forward to it very much. However, the pool area is very shady and the pool itself is very small (which is ok). Unfortunately, the pool was also not very clean (there were a few used bandaids in the water) and way too cold for little kids (and some of their parents). After about 30 seconds in the water, our daughter started to shiver violently and got blue lips, so we had get her out. Given that the family hotel seems to focus on families with little kids, I really do not understand, why they can't heat the indoor pool a bit more. There was also a small whirlpool, which on the other hand, was way too hot for children.

Despite these few negative points, I mostly enjoyed my stay and, given the price, I would probably give the hotel a second chance if we decide to visit Brand again.

We stayed here last ski season for a week and it's not a place I would particularly recommend.

We stayed in a suite which was way too small for a family of four and it was dated and drab, with too little storage space for all our ski clothes.

The food was very average and the service was slow. The bar area is reasonably cosy, but again the service was slow and often inefficient.

There are lots of better places in Austria, I'd keep looking....

My Wife and I have just returned from 2 weeks in the named hotel where we have been visiting for several years and are delighted to find that it still has not changed and that the rooms, staff and food have retained their delightful standard.
Breakfast for us is a 1 to 2 hour feast with almost everything you could wish for and you certainly don't need anything further until dinner which is again a delight.
The Staff could not be more helpful and friendly.
The only downside are the babies taken to dinner which could be a nuisance if they started crying.
We eat in the Garden room which seems to be devoid of babies (hopefully a deliberate ploy).

We drove down through Belgium and Luxembourg primarily to fill up with petrol in Luxembourg where the cost per litre worked out to £1.08.Last year it was £1.12

Room Tip: Rooms facing the tennis courts with balconies are the best.

We have just returned from a stay at this hotel. Booking, requests & check-in was great and all straight forward. Baby friendly hotel and had a cot in room, along with changing mat, bottle warmer & nappy bin! Staff on reception were fantastic and very helpful but can't say the same about one of the bar staff and one waitress. How this barman ever got a job I'll never know, he was 'too busy' to finish our order one night, 'too busy' to get us the bill another & completely forgot to get our order on the last night, it was actually comical! The waitress constantly rolled her eyes up to heaven when asked anything out of the ordinary. All in all a good hotel but a bit dated. Also be warned if you book a babysitter, it cost us €82! We pay almost half that in London for a babysitter with over 20 years experience.

Brand is an amazing town in a gorgeous country full of amazing towns. Getting there is quite a ride...scenic and beautiful. The hotel is showing it's age and could be updated, but for the price, what a great deal. The restaurant serves wonderful food (dinner and full breakfast included.) The staff was friendly and accommodating. Nothing else needs to be said other than if you're in Austria heading for Switzerland (Zurich Airport) get off the Autobahn and drive to Brand.

We stayed with three families in this great child friendly hotel in Brandnertal. Childeren are very welcome and this hotel is great for the age range 4-14 years. Smaller childeren are better of in the other FAM-Hotel in Liechtenstein (I've stayed there before when my daughter was a toddler). Diner is great and the waiters en waitresses are very patient with the childeren. There is a big breakfastbuffet altough a little bit more daily variery is welcome. Brandnertal and Brand is small but beautifull, and ideal holiday destination for families with (small) childeren. Rooms are clean and comfortable. And everybody is very friendly. The girls from the childeren care "Werkstatt" are great and the childeren love them.
