Looking forward to next winter ... maybe with a bit more snow this time! Our love nest on the swiss ski slopes ... food was great, will have to work on the ski-belly!

A lovely restaurant and hotel with incredible views. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were very quickly made to feel part of the Hameau family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The fondues are to die for and the breakfasts provide a good selection of fresh local patisserie & bread, yoghurt, fresh juice and cooked options.
We had a twin room at the front of the hotel and were woken by broad sunlight every morning. The descendeur ski bar is only a minutes walk across the piste, offering drinks and snacks (the Swiss Valaisanne lager is highly recommended) and both the bar and hotel offer ski in/ ski out facilities.
We will be back just as soon as we recover from this trip!

Hameau les Cleves is a beautiful hideaway in a stunning location right on the slopes in the most sort after area of Haute Nendaz.
The room was tastefully decorated, clean and warm with a shared hot tub right outside.
A very short stroll takes you to the restaurant... I have eaten here before but this year is a massive improvement. The food was fresh and very tasty, with daily specials. Tom's chocolate brownie is to die for. The waiting staff were very helpful and attentive and the restaurant has a very welcoming homely atmosphere.
It's a true ski in/ski out location with the popular slope side ski bar just a short hop away.
Stunning views, great service, welcoming friendly hosts, great skiing- what's not to love?
Yes the stairs in one of the mazo's are a bit on the steep side but for me this just adds to the charm.
Go check it out- we loved it

The location is great, right next to the ski slopes and nice walking paths. The view is amazing and it is nice decorated.

They want to offer a high end place, but isn't at all. Food is ok (nothing special) and It is overpriced and the service is poor. It is managed by amateurs and you have the feeling that they care more about themselves than about you!

Beeing a former student from the Ecole hòtelière de Lausanne and having travelled to many great hotels and/or bed&breakfast around the world, I think there is a lot to do to reach the promises!

Dear Sir/Madam
Since spring 2011 Hameau Les Cleves is under new management and no longer an open restaurant/hotel. The concept has changed to a private Mountain Lodge as has the name, which offers B&B packages in the summer and a personalized fully catered experience in the Winter, only for the Hameau guests. This way we can concentrate more on our guests needs and give each and every one full attention, as they deserve. We can ensure that cleanliness is at a very high standard and a towel change during a weekly stay is mandatory. The staff are carefully handpicked and have experience in the customer service industry.

I hope you can put your previous experience aside and come visit us again in the NEW Hameau Mountain Lodge in Nendaz.
Regards
Hameau Mountain Lodge

We will definitely be coming back to Hameau Les Cleves.

It is a fun, warm and welcoming place and the owners, Corrine and Eric are exactly as another reviewer has said: "charming, relaxed and very helpful". Indeed, we found all the staff, helpful and unfailingly polite. When we got stuck on the snowy road above Haute Nendaz, a quick phone call got Eric and helpers out to push us up the hill to a welcoming platter of meats & cheeses and a tasty drop of Dole du Valais ...!

I booked the opening weekend of the 2010 / 11 winter season for a surprise / romantic birthday getaway. We stayed in the 'Mazot' - a snug, well appointed, modern wooden little chalet for two. The bedroom, which takes up the entire upper floor, has a little balcony and gorgeous views (from under the warm covers of the comfortable large bed) across the Rhône Valley onto the peaks of the Berner Oberland. Outside, a few metres away, is the (shared) hot tub and directly over the road is the restaurant (and 'fromagerie') producing straightforward, delicious and most importantly, fresh fare in comfortable surroundings . It was good to see that locals also enjoyed walking to the restaurant for lunch and dinner. The piste is 20m away (you can ski right to the door) and the 'Le Descendeur' ski bar a mere 125m or so. Haute Nendaz, should you want it, is a walk down the hill.

This is an excellent place for couples wanting to get away from it, without resigning themselves to total seclusion. It is a lovely romantic setting, without being overly drippy, the service is attentive and personal without becoming overbearing or irritating and the location is a little bit out of way without being dead and too difficult to escape from.

Very highly recommended - go visit!

We loved our stay at Hameau les Cleves. It is a fun, welcoming and fantastically well-positioned place for a ski-in, ski-out holiday in Nendaz.

The owners, Corinne and Eric, are charming, relaxed and very helpful. We stayed in the gorgeous “Lodge” chalet, which, with its large comfortable beds, under-floor heating and Jacuzzi right next door, was a perfect place to relax after a long day’s skiing.

We enjoyed the mix of having the privacy of our own place with the ease of the cozy restaurant and bar right across the way, both of which had stunning views. The evening meals were delicious, and offered a mix of international cuisine and a real taste of the food and excellent wine from the valley.

The hotel has the benefit of the being very close to the Descendeur bar, which is right on the slopes and a popular après-ski haunt on sunny days.

We found the staff warm, friendly and helpful.

We had high expectations of the Hameau after a rave review in a UK newspaper and booked immediately. Its setting is stunning and they have the potential to create a beautiful luxury chalet hotel in a snowy paradise.
Positives of our stay:
1. Very warm welcome from owners, including towing us up the road very late at night after we got stuck in a snow storm and a lovely cheese platter with wine.
2. perfect slope-side ski-in ski-out location.... this could not have been better
3. great views from the restaurant, terrace and ski-bar
Areas of opportunity:
1. cleanliness of the room - no fresh towels throughout a 7 day stay, room sometimes cleaned but more often it was not.... bins weren't even emptied
2. very poor service from the Hameau staff ( with only a couple of exceptions). The staff were hung-over each morning and guests were treated as a nuisance. One morning we asked for bacon for breakfast (husband saw a member of staff eating bacon at the next table) and was firmly told by the waitress (who was consistently rude) that the bacon is for staff only. The staff made comments about the guests and who was still to come down for breakfast. They also made it clear that they preferred not to have guests eat dinner at the Hameau - we started eating in Nendaz from the middle of our trip. We felt like intruders in a holiday camp.
3. concerned about chalet rooms - no sound insulation and extremely steep ladders up to bedroom... let's hope no-one has an accident!!!!

Overall, it felt like a youth hostel charging luxury hotel prices....
Not a relaxing experience and glad to get home.

I hope that the owners take some proactive measures to improve the experience for future guests as the Hameau has great potential.
